revrnd
Last winter I noticed that the sled rocks back & forth (resting on the belly pan) when lifted on the Marlift/tougue jack style of sled lift. Today I stuck a couple of 3/4" blocks of wood (1 on each side) between the running boards and rear supports. This reduced the rocking. I didnt add anything to the front supports, but I think that would help. I'll do a bit more checking in a few days & will report what I find. I fabbed my lift using the plans that having been floating around the 'net for years. The supports are slightly different than the Marlifts. DOOBEE
You need to clear the dropped drive shaft in the newer sleds. I added 1 inch to the front and 4 inches to the rear of a PA lift to fit my XR. In the summer I add a larger riser on in the front and notched the rear for my ATV axle so the lift is useful all year. revrnd
I'm pretty sure these are the plans that I used: https://totallyamaha.com/snowmobiles/aaTECH/SledLift/SledLift.htm
revrnd
I added 1" blocks to the uprights & the lift clears the drive shaft 'bumps' by about half an inch. No rocking. Uprights are now 3" high. The only thing I had to do was slip a piece of 2x4 under each ski before sliding the lift under the sled. Otherwise the sled is too low @ the front. revrnd
OK, a bit more to report. No pics right now, but I'm using a 4" 'riser' on the rear. This keeps the sled much steadier. The risers are removable to allow for sliding the lift under the front of the sled. I'll post pics when I get a chance.
revrnd
I'm going to shorten the screws & then tack them to the spacer to 'capture' them. I have a chunk of truck mudflap that I'll cut pads from to glue on top.
