carman80
South River-Macher Community Center is a great place to stage. It is behind the Shell gas station and the trail goes right through the parking lot and behind the arena. Head west, then north to Nipissing and then west to Port Loring for gas and lunch at Jake’s(about 120km depending on the trails you decide to take). Straight shot back to the truck and trailer after lunch(about 70km is the shortest route via NN450 and C105D).

Blake G
Novar to South River got about 10 - 12 cms last night. Trails are in great shape at the moment, as are the roads. Sundridge and South River arenas have parking, but last Saturday the Sundridge arena lot was packed by 9 a.m.

Check the opening times for both Jake's and Roxie's Diner - http://www.jakesrestaurant.ca/ last year they were on some sort of staggered schedule - when one was open the other was closed. The open times changed sometime during the season as well. Something else to note - http://roxiesdinerportloring.com/ Roxie's has a two bedroom apartment for accomodation, $100.00 a night and looks very comfortable. Better for parking as well as it's usually a tight squeeze for trucks and trailers and the restaurant has a designated parking spot. We were not too happy at the Northland Motel next door last year when the last thing the lady who checked us in said was "don't steal the towels". I am not kidding. I am not kidding. Got the same thing in Quebec last year! Some sledders were apparently using the towels to wipe down their sleds in the morning and either just leaving them outside or in some cases taking the towels with them. duh?
