Astro Boy Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 We have a group of guys heading to Ontario the weekend of Feb 17th and would consider riding from the Sault up to Wawa. I'd like to follow my GPS but I have not bought any mapping for that region. any thoughts on where to get it possibly free. I know the OFSC has it through a third party but I hate to pay that much for just a weekend.
sledjunk Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Welcome to the forum. There are unofficial maps available on this site. http://ontarioconditions.com/forums/index.php?/topic/15848-ontario-sled-trails-2016-pcmacgpxgdb-downloads/#comment-210274
PISTON LAKE CRUISER Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Welcome to the forum Astro. You might want to check some of the treads in the Main Clubhouse forum lielthe Aubrey Falls-Black Creek one and the Sault Ste. Marie/Batchewana one. They both talk about the fuel availability between the Soo and 1/2 way Haven. You need to be aware of the availability issues. As well, DAN SENIOR is from the Soo and is a wealth of knowledge on the forum. He started both the threads that I mentioned.
skidooboy Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 astro, you may be better served to trailer to searchmont, contact carl and driftwood valley chalet's, for a small fee you can park your rig safely there, and have no fuel range issues you would encounter otherwise, by starting from sault ste marie proper. welcome to the forum. AC+YA Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 All good advise above. Note that if you start from Searchmont as skidooboy indicates, you won't have any issues following the groomed trails all the way to Wawa.
