Last ride for the Kit Cat Club

MotorCity

Recommended Posts

Well i think we took our last ride for the Winter, took 2 of my buddies and trailered to Iron Bridge on 2/27/16, the trip consisted of good times as always. The trip log (1,184 miles) and sleds were as follows

2007 Crossfire 800 15,184 miles

2011 Crossfire 800 H.O. 6,600 miles

2006 Sabrecat 600 5,800 miles

2/26/16 Iron Bridge to Elliot Lake

2/27/16 Elliot Lake to Sudbury

2/28/16 Sudbury to Gowganda ( Auld Reekie)

2/29/16 Gowganda ( Auld Reekie) to New Liskerd to Kirkland land Lake

3/1/16 Kirkland Lake to New Liskerd

3/2/16 New Liskerd to Sudbury

3/3/16 Sudbury to Elliot Lake

3/4/16 Elliot Lake to Iron Bridge

Day 1

Ice scratchers were needed as temps were warm and trails were icy all the way to Elliot Lake,

Day 2

Trails were hard and icy to Massey then were so lucky to ride 2 foot bumps all the way to Sudbury, the flatest trails we saw were the roads. We woke up the the 2 day snow storm which dumped a foot or more snow.

Day 3

Left Sudbury to Gowganda and the trails got really good at the Shinning tree turn around, before the turn to Gowganda we had to go to Shinning Tree but the Sabrecat ran out of fuel 5 miles before Shinning Tree, as we burned up some fuel trying to find Rockys (they need to post a mileage sign so people do not assume it is just up the rode), got fuel in Shinning Tree, then headed to Auld Reekie. Arrived to find the Secondary clutch was starting to fail on my 2007 crossfire 14,740 miles on original secondary clutch. Call NORTHERN SPORTS MARINE in New Liskerd in the morning  and Tom said he may have something to fix me up. So we chanced the run to New Liskerd with all the short cuts provided by the locals and arrived around 1:30 pm. Took the clutch off and was now basically destroyed, Tom took the time and effort to located a used one and left to go get it, and upon his return to my surprise he was able to located a brand new one. (Amazing, but there is a price to pay but worth every dime) installed and off we went Kirkland Lake.

Day 4

We were going to head to Timmins but was not sure how the trails were going to be as they were pretty rough up to now except near Shinning Tree, so we decided to back track a different route to New Liskerd just to be safe and then finally all groomers were out and had fresh pavement every where for the last half of the trip.

Day 5

Left New Liskerd for Sudbury and had awesome trails the whole way.

Day 6

Took the southern route across Penage lake, Long Lake and was awesome. Stopped at the dragon fly in Massey for lunch/Dinner great food and beer store right next door!! Arrived at Elliot Lake after a great day.

Day 7

Checked over the sleds and noticed a coolant leak on both Crossfires and found that the return line had wore thru, and lucky enough across the street from the hotel was a Nappa store who had hoses that we could replace it with. Had a nice easy day after the repair to the truck in Iron Bridge until my buddy riding the Sabercat decided get us to watch him whip then watch him nae nae...LOL and headed right off the trail into the toolies amen he was not hurt just his Canadian pride and a little bruise. We turned around and dug him out a little 100 mile per tape and good to go.. Steve and Kyle thanks again to some great laughs and good times and alot of beerpost-20144-0-61434300-1457626298_thumb.jpgpost-20144-0-58323200-1457626311_thumb.jpgpost-20144-0-80863200-1457626324_thumb.jpgpost-20144-0-71497800-1457626335_thumb.jpgpost-20144-0-38484500-1457626347_thumb.jpgpost-20144-0-93756700-1457626358_thumb.jpgpost-20144-0-47862000-1457626370_thumb.jpgpost-20144-0-42107400-1457626382_thumb.jpgpost-20144-0-73506600-1457626393_thumb.jpgpost-20144-0-39872700-1457626396_thumb.jpg!!!!

Great pics!

Looks like miles and miles of smiles -- except the bruise.

Thx for the report. Helpful dealership and repair info.
