From deep river to bonfield and north of North Bay are among my favorite trails to ride. Most seem to bypass all the local trails and shoot down the Top trails missing all the awesome riding.

Good read!  I'm hoping to ride the trails between Mattawa and Pembroke next week.

What are the chances??

Good article - got a few more of those 'done' than I thought! Having read a few promos and articles, sure hope the tourism draw initiative to the "Top Secret Boondocking Trails" works out well for Wawa and up through to D'ville. Good example of using what nature gave you and sharing it.

Info on the second annual 2016 Wawa Snowdown - great locally supported event:

You might want to be less disdainful of the '20 mph Sunday crowd'...

To add to the excellent choices in the article - Was having a look over the OFSC map and was thinking about another 'undiscovered ' area - Port Loring. Trails go off in all directions and suit all types of riders. A good base for visiting the bridges at the Pickeral and French Rivers - nice trail out thataway or any number of loops.

A good way to visit and see the local trail system is to join in the Argyle Club's annual poker run, taking place February 6 th of this year.

Port Loring and area has a decent infrastructure for sledders - restaurants Jake's and Roxies:

And some good accomodation choices - Northland Motel, Tornado's Resort, Pine Grove resort:

http://www.pinegroveresort.com/

New this year is accomodation at Roxie's Restaurant - a one bedroom suite and a two bedroom suite. Details are on the Roxie's Diner website, but look like they would suit a larger party of people.

Gas is available at the local hardware store.

For revrnd (accomodation database) and mossy's (who used to like fishing there) sake, people should be aware that Wright Point Resort is now under private ownership as a private retreat, owned and operated by its shareholders, and not open to the public.

Another interesting detail from the area - this year's Cornfest 2016 Argyle Club Fundraiser will be auctioning off a SEPTIC SYSTEM and DRILLED WELL. Details are forthcoming on the Argyle website.(And  I thought the load of gravel offered one year as a prize in a draw in Bear Lake was a good one!)

We've enjoyed Tornado's in the past (2014).  Lodge style, breakfast and dinner (we had a large group - rented a cottage).
