Viperules700
An ice storm went through Halfway Haven and Highway 129 area on Wednesday December 15th. Sean indicated he has been clearing trees for the past 2 days and its nasty. Sounds like he needs some major help in there. We are sledding in from the Eton Bluffs route on Saturday with saws, but may have to turn around due to lack of snow. That is terrible news. Wish I had time off to go up with the chainsaw next week, but have more birds coming. No one wanted them Christmas eve so I won!

Dan-Senior
Hi Gang, Thought I would share a few more photos of our trip to Halfway Haven yesterday. Some of the guys used backup sleds because we weren't sure how much snow to expect. Definitely way more than we expected. New sleds would have worked fine. We did not take the OFSC trail, as there is still not enough snow in the Searchmont area. You need to come in from the Frater Ontario side. Merry Christmas to everyone. Happy Holidays and safe travels. Ride while you can. Life it too short. Dan-Senior
skidooboy
they received even more in this area last night and this morning. we will be driving through the area shortly. looks like snow covered roads for the first 200 miles of our trip home at least. Turbo Doo
Looks good. Seems to be quite the amount of lake effect snow! WOOOWEEE..
skidooboy
very narrow band of heavy snow fell in that region. most of it is at higher elevation above the cliffs, of superior inland in the mountainous terrain of the back country of Algoma, and Agawa areas. north of montreal river harbour on on superior, and south of there has very little snow. we have 4-6" in dub wawa areas, maybe a bit more in some locations. the soo proper, had a skiff... soo Michigan green bare grass. even with the snow, the ground, rivers, lakes, are not frozen... sinking groomers going out now, is a REAL PROBABILITY. be patient everyone, it will come time when the grounds are froze, and it is safe to pack, groom ect... this is the worst time of year for damaging equipment, sleds and groomers. early season is not the best riding. wait, and save holidays time, budget, for when the snow and trails are prime. Dan-Senior
We didn't have to trailer too far today to find snow, which is good news. This is Mile 38 north of Sault Ste. Marie at the Batchawana River Bridge. Tonight's storm should put the icing on the cake. A quick video clip from today with Chad, Ray, Sean and myself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnCGOgW9X4w&feature=youtu.be
