Moose is usually pretty good. Except in the summer. Everyday (Im fully serious too) they say 30% chance of thundershowers, when its clear blue skies...They stay on the safe side
Wildbill Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Sledguy74 was the 711 open yet ? That's a great run to Magnetawn The Magnetawan club busted their butts to make this happen 13 kilometers of new trail had to be cut with no help from any granting
Sledguy74 Posted February 1, 2014 Author Posted February 1, 2014 105 mi today. Filled up at Fetterleys then headed out on the al302, excellent shape. Then we headed west on the al305 "bobs way". We discovered a Honda Ridgeline owner thought the trail was a road and got really stuck. 305 was in really good shape. Then we took the D123 which was freshly groomed. ...sweet. We stopped at the D123, al300 for a quick break. Traffic was very light. Then we decided to head over to the D trail with took us down to the ice cave trail al301. Took another break at the cave and then continued down the D trail back to Kearney. There we decided to grab lunch at Suds on Main. First time there, food was good and fresh, place was clean, beer was cold and the servers were cute. Snow started so we decided to go down the D trail to the D123 and ride up to Katrine our old stomping ground. There we hit the lake and took the short cut back to the Seguin and hit Sprucedale for fuel. Then we turned around and rode the Seguin back to Kearney. Lots of snow, trails are good and traffic wasn't as bad as we figured

Definitely gonna do that run! especially on the seguin at atleast 35mph thats only 3 hours. Seguin is great! I ran it to wild bills from sand lake and took the 201 over 204, instead of using the c trail. There was a place called tastes of muskoa, food is good! Great ride, especially if the trail is smooth (you will get passed only doing the speed limit).
craigofudd Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 The cops stopped us at the 711a on the back to Kearney. We had moderate traffic on the Seguin. what is a typical stop like? what do they check for?
Viperules700 Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 what is a typical stop like? what do they check for? Usually stop and check for permits and license validation sticker and ask a few quick questions to see if you have been drinking. Some will even ask for license and insurance proof.
Sledguy74 Posted February 2, 2014 Author Posted February 2, 2014 what is a typical stop like? what do they check for?usually stop looking for license sticker then let you go on your way
Sledguy74 Posted February 2, 2014 Author Posted February 2, 2014 Shortly going to head over to sand lake for breakfast at Silversands. Then maybe hit a club trail and unfortunately come back and drive home.

Viperules700 Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Back home after a great 250 mile weekend Superbowl time Trails are awesome here at home though.
whits-end Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 The Magnetawan club busted their butts to make this happen 13 kilometers of new trail had to be cut with no help from any granting Did a great job too! We rode it last week (Jan 25th) and it was awesome. Way more snow and slush on Ahmic Lake than over here on Pickerel Lake, so after wings at Duck Rock we headed south on C101. It was not so good. Back up 711 to 706 and home thru Burk's Falls. A great 260 km day. We're lovin' the lack of traffic this year. Makes for an enjoyable return ride home on Saturday afernoon.
