Wow. Great turn out at the St Clements Clubhouse last night. A record February.

Big thanks to all the volunteers for making it possible.

Next Wing Night is March 6. Hoping that the snow holds on for at least another month.

About 550 lbs. There were a few lbs left over and wings are being sold at the club until they run out.

The Police were in the clubhouse Friday night as they often do. They headed out and came back only a few minutes later after finding the rider and damaged sled.

This was the story I was told. He had not been to the club. He was coming towards the clubhouse from Linwood. He was riding in a group that encountered another group coming the other way. One of the sleds had bright lights. As the rider moved over to make room for the oncoming traffic, he lost sight of the side of the trail, slipped off the hardpack and got sucked in by the powder then collided with the post. The post had been marked with a reflective orange stake. The police came to the clubhouse only to ask that we restake the post and fence since the original was mounted to the post and no longer visible.

The rider wasn't hurt. Only damage was to the post and his sled. I believe his a-arms were cleaned off the right side.

Viperules700, I'm sure you were just trying to make a joke but I don't need it in this thread.

He came up on me and my son and his friend but they were going towards Linwood leaving club area. He was last in line of a group of about 8 sleds buts him and his buddy were at tail end not part of other group. I slowed down to let everyone through fence posts just for this reason and with the snow dust following to close lost sight and right ski dropped off trail and soft snow sucked him into post. That's what I think as he was not going fast at all. Been there and done that a few times when right ski drops off hard pack into soft powder. That's the way I seen it. At least no injuries except whole right side suspension torn from sled from bulkhead. Right ski hit post dead centre and rest was history. Randy at Tri City should be getting a sled or a parts order.

Yes side note still wings for sail late yesterday afternoon. Crushed as we were all hyped up about a burger and fried onions. Burgers shrunk big time . Talked to Ed and I guess those bear paws or whatever they were called no longer available(Schneiders/Maple Leaf fiasco). Clubhouse are well known for the awesome cow patties. Have to find another supplier????

Thanks for clarifying Skidoo68. Like I said I was just going by what I was told.

Ya, I'm the food purchaser and those burgers we were getting are discontinued. Mapleleaf pulled them off the market. I switched brands to what came recommended to me as a replacement. They are a quality product, Leadbetters from Orillia. Tasty but they do shrink.

I am researching now and learning a whole lots about burgers......lol

Tuesday is our club meeting and I will have a couple of new options.

Thanks jow, I get lots of requests for different things and I will try to accomodate when I can. Last wing night I was asked to add Rootbeer to the pop selection. I did and we sold 22 cans on Friday night. I didn't know it was so popular.

Last year I was asked to add diet Sprite and it took 2 months to sell 12 cans.

I will check in to the blue cheese sauce and see what I can do.

Skidoo68, Stemmlers is on my list of places to talk to.

Ok, Thanks.

I bought a case of 24 rootbeer for friday night just to see how it would go. There was only 2 cans left for Saturday. I brought out another case Saturday afternoon.

Rootbeer will be a regular item from now on.

Its a work in progress.  Learning as I go.       :-D

They did switch to a smaller bigger a few years ago to speed up cooking times. I remember the great big hand pressed ones they had about 5 years ago were great.

If you need REALLY good blue cheese.  Let me know for next year and I could definitely help you out.  PM in the future if need be.

I believe they used the premade "Bearpaw" burgers for 10 years+, I don't ever remember the club using hand pressed burgers at least not for the last 20 years or more.
