  1. Whole group of us heading to mont Laurier this weekend but that’s probably more north of Ottawa than you were thinking?
  2. My dad walked uphill to school both ways barefoot in 2 ft of snow; lol. Those good old days; lol
  3. Mid city Polaris in Sudbury had a ton of left overs from last year. He was loaded with left over stock. Trailside sports in espanola had a few as well but nothing compared to mid city
  4. It’s definitely different and a lot of work from my experience. My brother lives in Golden BC and years ago I went out and rented a sled with a guide and it was awesome. The company was called snow Peak rentals, and the operator was Mike Palumbo. He was awesome. We had went late in the year so the snow has set up, which made life much easier as I found out later. Later in life, I moved to Edmonton and bought myself a mountain sled and went out to Revelstoke. With fresh deep powder, I soon found out how much work it was and it wasn’t long before I sold the mountains sled lol. I’m definatley a flat lander but it was good to experience it for sure
  5. I was just thinking after I posted this that the best way to describe it is I’ve been on these trails many times when there green and they’re in a lot worse shape than they are now being yellow so that should give you some hope
  6. No need to cancel. The trails are good. The base is a little bit hard but still lots of lube. Ithe trails are great. All the way right to Espinola. Obviously gets a little bit bumpy when you’re close to Elliot Lake, but other than that the trails are really good. I would not head down their trail to Spragge as anything along The highway is never good. . There’s not much in Spanish anymore so you’re better to go to Massey. The only issues at all or is that anywhere there is a creek or a swamp is it starting to come across the trail and it’s a little sketchy in places so you just have to be aware of that. Other than that the trails are excellent. supposed to be fairly warm tomorrow but later in the week they’re calling for a bunch of snow. Anyway, if you’re looking to get some riding, I definitely would not cancel I would come.
  7. I will post tomorrow late afternoon when I arrive. Also have another friend heading there as well in the early morning and he is going to be riding that area as well for 2 days. I’ll talk to him tomorrow night as well to see how his day was before I report
  8. I can let you know tomorrow. I’m heading from espanola to Elliot lake tomorrow morning. We got about 4 to 5 inches last night but not sure how much Elliot lake got
  9. My vote is for the triton tc167. Only 7 wide so not catching tons of air and will fit two sleds of any size. Super lite. Pull behind sport Ute easily. Might be exspensive but you’ll probably never have to buy another one unless you get into hauling 3 or 4 sleds
  10. Heading to LaBannick Friday night and then riding to Lassere Saturday over to Amos and back to rouyn Sunday and back to the truck Monday. Anyone on the site heading that direction to be sure to stop and say hi and maybe we can have a beverage. Look for a, 2020 Polaris 600 retro graphics. Hopefully bump into someone from the site.
  11. I know Mike. I have no problem paying. Didn’t know he offered that option
  12. Any place near Mattawa to stage and leave a truck and trailer for a few days? I know the Valois and Mattawa golf and ski club but I assume neither of those places would want you to tie up there parking lot if you weren’t staying there?
  13. When going through espanola just past Canadian tire and A&W turn onto McCullouch drive. It branches left but stay to your right. Probably go about 1/4 mile to penage lake road. Turn right on penage lake road and go down a mile or so and you will see a huge lot on your left. That the town snow dump. I’ve asked permission and parked there out of the way for days before. If you go past that a short distance just before you cross the bridge there is another parking area on your left. If you go over the little bridge you’ve gone too far. That one is meant for sleddera but sometimes it fills fast with ice fishermen. If it’s full I just go back to the town snow dump area. Never had any trouble at either place. You could also unload at the mall or at Canadian tire because the trail is right there as well. Anyway, hope that helps.
  14. My vote is definatley the TC167. Narrow enough you can see past it with regular mirrors, it’s low and tows great. 2 sleds go in easily and in a pinch I’ve had 3 in there. The only downside I see is the price on them has gone crazy over the last few years but if you can find a deal there a great trailer
  15. I crossed at Sault Ste. Marie the other day and went to Ohio and back. No problems either way and no mention of Covid either way
  16. In my opinion for day loops probably rouyan would be your best bet. The quality in is a nice place with the bar (La cage) attached. You can ride north to Lassare then down to Amos and back which would be a great day loop then of course you could ride to ville Marie or valdor and back or jump over to newliskerd and loop around on the Ontario side. Depending on what time of year, you are going they have a tree line from there down to villemarie as well and you could ride the trail back. Lots of options.
  17. I have always used conveyor belting on the floor to protect it from the studs. It’s heavy enough it doesn’t move much and if you get a piece just a bit wider than your track you can run your dollys on your skis. You can usually get some from any quarry or lumber mill that uses conveyors. They will usuall give you a used chunk for free. If that doesn’t work for you, then I believe TSC stores carry the horse stall mat, which is thick and heavy, and would work as well but obviously you would have to pay for that.
