I always look at my sled and say "Could I sell this to a friend with a clear conscience?"

If the answer is "No' then I trade it in.....lol

Hahahaha. I do the same with some tractors.  Out of sight out of mind. Then you don't have to drudge that phone call.  I have one that's giving me abit of grief at moment. Needs tires now too. I think I just trade that one in.

The dealer I normally deal with has no problem running a sled through them but he also hasn’t been taking trades . He  doesn’t sell X3 s SXS so I bought from another dealer they would take my sled on trade at a ridiculous low price plus the new sled was 400 more and would not let me run my sled through them .

Do you spilt some of savings with buyer or do yoy keep it all.
Does dealer add on a pass thru fee of some sort too to cover there time? Thanks

Hmmmm, the couple I was at I mentioned it and they looked at me like I had 3 heads lol.

Some just don't want to do it for a few reasons. A few guys on here seem to do it often and dealers co-operate. Anything to save some taxes when purchasing a new one that's for sure. Also makes sure no liens on it for buyer.

It really is a win win, if it’s a fair offer…..with less hassles and headaches, if that is worth it to you to have less hassles in life….
you save the decreased amount offered in taxes you save on new vehicle that you wouldn’t see on private sale.
dealer makes that money as profit when they sell based on market value that keeps the wheel greased.
    rinse and repeat….

It's defiantly harder to be ahead with same 13  percent  as dealers now. Before hst  there was an extra 5 percent to work with.

Your time isn’t free, all the waiting around, showing, haggling etc etc, at a point, the wasted time and effort isn’t worth having it gone and moving on.

That's true  usually I make 5k more then trade. I always do it ahead of time. Can't get what I want trade it in 😎.   Now I just seem to keep them forever mostly and see how far they go. Our average family vehicle age is 18.3 years at moment.

People get caught up in the what it is worth to me vs. what it is worth to others/market can bear......the latter of the two will usually see success, the first, not so much......

I was just talking to a friend who is selling a used vehicle, they are stuck on 27K mark for it, dealer offered 23K when they bought their new one......stupid thing is they would have saved almost 3K in taxes on the trade in......lol.

27 not a bad deal I take that. 1k is 1k.  That's at least a week of work for most people.

Sold my sons last dirt bike in 3 days too -priced it fair - took $200.00 less - wanted it gone.

guy showed up - looked at it - started it up - said we're good.

    That was it

Good job. I noticed market is flooded with used atv's people are trying to get rid of. Might be a good time to replace my 2011 or keep it as a back up bike. It gets used almost every day here on farm.

$2.00 a litre regular gas coming soon.

the fire sale will follow in behind that

I said 2.30 a few weeks ago by July and I got everything thrown at me for that. 🤣

government behind it they want gas vehicles off the road and into electrics.

Most are  $20 - 50,000 I believe.  Some higher priced.

A lot of smaller SUV towable

A tent trailer is around 26,000.
A nice hard top side one where ends just fold out and you have access to most of trailer when ends are folded in is around 45,000 ish depending on options. Those have  full size fridges and stoves and nicer washroom. Motor homes are closer to quarter million dollars now 🤣

Looking for a c class moter home.

    They sure not fallen yet..

    Good luck.
Maybe you find someone willing to sell with increasing fuel prices.  Volume of those motor homes is allot less then trailers. They defiantly hold value pretty good these days.  You want to go to Florida too and camp out in Walmart parking lots along the way. My buddy always did that. He joked he saved enough on camp sites to cover a portion of fuel bill 😀.

Doo you mean Hearst to longlac?

Yeah, that's 150 miles or so.

Otherwise Manitouwadge is in the middle, so no issue.

I think that you can make it from Manitouwadge up to Longlac on one tank.

We was able to git gas in Caramat as we were headed back east to Hearst and I don't think that we have ever been on the short stretch east of Longlac?

Hard to say if Caramat is open anymore tho.

    ???

    .

Trail stops in Manitouwadge. They haven't  re opened  rest yet. Hopefully in near future it would make a nice loop again for riders in wawa, dub hornepayne area's. On bucket list if it ever re opens 😎

Well, its un-realistic to think people need new sleds every year - and given the last few winters - even every few - and 1st time buyers I bet you could count on one hand - so that doesn't surprise me at all.

Maybe they come up with one monthly payment and you can trade sled in April and get a new atv. Come late fall they take atv back and give you a new sled.  Would be a clever idea.

I wonder if they would take my 02 Skidoo 600 Gt w 25000 km on a trade?  It should be worth about $2000.

If thats not April fools, somebody is getting serious about moving inventory.

Nope they won't give you squat for it. Get a better deal without it 😀.

yup, sit tight - the massive rebates are on their way.

I hope you right. Our local Polaris dealer still has lots of 2024's in stock including three xcr's (cancelled snow checks) Never sold them last I checked.

Loosely keeping an eye & ear out for a fair deal on a new to me used sled, both dealer and private, just don't see it. My take, way overpriced from new, sellers hoping to recover what they likely never will.

Most sellers will negotiate abit. They all seem to list high and wait and see. I had a few say they go down a few grand after they aren't moving for a few months. I haven't seen any killer deals either but some good deals with low mileage and some warranty left.
Dealer in kearny blew out a used vr1  2022 with 7s for 11,999 I believe it was. Went fast. Had around 2300 miles I believe. It was an 850. Haven't seen any 650's that cheap any where yet.

Just put my riding gear away for the summer this morning, and calculated my exact mileage for the winter - 399 km. Hmmm! I will head north if I can convince any buddies to go. Have started to prepare for a bike trip to WV in 3 weeks, but don't need much time for that.

Have to go this week. Next week it warms up. Not sure it's worth 8 hour trip With limited amount of trails open. Everyone will want to go 🤣.

LTX are a great smooth tire.

They are ok tire. Many better choices out there now? Light truck tires are better suited to trucks.

  18. 10 minutes ago, Wildman said:

Those tires don't typically go as many miles as one would expect. I sell quite a few Toyo Open Country AT3, good wear and smooth. Doesn't hurt to look.

Toyo are good tires. I love there winter tires. Cheaper then Nokia still has walnut shells in tread and they last. Gsi 6 or whatever they call them.

    Studs is what is needed.
just drive in QC in a bad weather day and see those crazy buggers fly by you or pass on roads that are ice…lol

Then pass the ones flipped over or in the ditch a few km up the road that assume don’t have studs.

I agree but they are banned unless you live far enough north in Ontario. In south they use that new chemical salt that works down to minus 25 C or so. 30 years ago they never cleaned roads down to bare pavement. Everyone just drove according to conditions. Now today every one wants to blame someone else for thier actions or poor judgement calls. It's a sad world.
I get truck some drivers that can barely back up on a good day. They rabbit hop backwards 😆.  A little bit of snow they can't move.  Then next guy that has more experience can make a gong show look easy 😎

I thought so too until I got turned around by heavy cross winds in flash freeze conditions at highway speed. First time ever and it made me realize that 80kph was way to fast to be out of control. Not to mention the fact that things could have gone bad had I hurt someone just because I unprepared. I'm all about some good snow tires these days. Cheap compared to the potential for disaster in my books.

On to the weather.... just got the boats home, had a couple good days fishing on G-Bay and next week calls for all below zero days and 20cm of snow. :banghead:

It's crazy! Here comes ice and snow we all been waiting for. 😆

Thanks for heads up on tires. Not much that help on ice though besides some good driving skills and a little bit of luck.

Are you that guy who drives around on black rusty steel rims all year?

I cant believe how much nicer (and quieter) my F150 is with the original tires back on.     I dont think I am even going to bother putting them on next year.

Nope was to cheap to buy steel rims. Cheaper to just leave snow tires on. Rims I would need sensors too. Next time I am going for those all weather tires. All you really need and they are very good in snow.

Cuts two ways, Insurance may "want" them on until April 1st but, most if not all real snow tires state do not drive in temps above 45 degrees. The soft compounds do not take heat very well. Ski

I don't even bother switching them now. Leave on all year they last longer then you would think.
