  1. Awesome idea, wish I could make it. Next time!
  2. Same. Lynn Hoy and the other. šŸ˜‚
  3. I heard the gym was done...right beside our trail too šŸ¤” Is your new sled ordered through him? I heard a few last year that ordered there and never got sleds. Donā€™t worry, you can ride double behind me šŸ˜‚ This girl does not ride b!tch.
  4. I fear this is whatā€™s happening/happened to our only dealer (any brand) for hours. Iā€™ve heard rumors that they (Colborne Skidoo) arenā€™t an official BRP dealership anymore, for real this time, but thatā€™s also been rumored for years. We bought new from him 2 years ago but last year had to go to Lynn Hoy for the new sled. Lynn Hoy was awesome to deal with, so may be worth the drive anyway.
  5. I remember seeing this locally, some of them were people I know...which ones are your parents?
  6. This all being said....aren't the fees determined by a formula that the Clubs all vote to approve each year at the AGM? Something like if permit sales are up a certain percentage then the fee goes up? I don't recall but there was a table of 4 options. I'm just saying that the fee has already been decided based on that vote and permit sales last season. Correct me if I'm wrong, it's happened before. šŸ˜Š
  7. You and I and many other volunteers put far more into the system in volunteer hours vs a permit fee. I'd still pay double the price to have 1/2 the idiots on the trail.
  8. There is a dude (I assume dude) on here named Crispy! I'll take some of the credit, I think we all know that I'm not shy. I volunteer in various roles because I love the sport but it never hurts to hear appreciation, thank you. You and I make a great team, I was amazed by what you were able to do this year...the rock & straw bridge was genius, I lost so much sleep the night before you fixed that problem area up. The landowner and I had a culvert put in for this coming season, sorry to ruin your fun. I totally agree, it's the cheapest part of sledding!
  9. I know a lot of our neighbouring clubs donā€™t give them anything. Maybe once every few years but nothing consistently.
  10. Have any of you been in a club that did a landowner dinner-non covid times? I like the idea of it but I honestly donā€™t think most would come. Chesley Club does it successfully I think.
  11. This is what we did this year. The local Home Hardware added $10 each on top of what we paid which is awesome. What did your club do? Any creative ideas? Anything landowners loved in the past?
  12. Another Spotlight up today - Facebook post
  13. They are being put out on the District 9 facebook page and website and seem to be shared pretty widely. The first one is around 19,000 impressions on facebook. Not sure why you aren't seeing them.
  14. I think more and more landowners are following the club and district facebook pages so they would see it if they were posted. Of course this also means that they see all the trespassing and complaining posts. I do share those at my club level but try and keep it mostly good news. In small towns it'll spread enough that a few people will mention it to them in person I hope too.
  15. Our Club did Club hats with ā€œlandownerā€ embroidered on the back, we have a few that wear them around town proudly.
  16. Have you guys seen these on the District 9 Facebook Page? What do you think? More to come in the next week or so.
  17. I know, I know, witness protection or a spy is my current line of thinking on you. Thanks for the kind words but I'm older than you think, just super freakin' short and adorable, haha. Here are some good deeds (before and after pics) from vooodooo's last shift.
  18. I havenā€™t read through this whole thread so maybe this has been said. 1. I thought at first you were looking for a sled wife lol 2. Does it have to be 4 stroke? Iā€™d vote 600etec. I went from an RX-1 to a 2011 GSX (different sled again now though) and I was suddenly able to zip through forest trails and if I did needed to I could lift the back end.
  19. That Chesley to Chatsworth section is part of my favourite loop. Love the wide bush roads and the rolling hills!
  20. Vooodooo! You just made my week! Also, Iā€™m going to start calling you VoooDooo in real life.
  21. I have nothing of value to add, just jokes.
