Seems Mr Coolbane has good support here.
Just for you members that don't know. Mr Coolbane and I go back along way. Anything said is just our way of poking fun at each other. If it was not for me his quick wit would soon diminish as we are all getting older. In fact he took me up Mt Carton in New Brunswick this year trying to kill me. But that's another story.

You should check out Gadgetmans thread on spring riding. You should have went with him Mr Coolbane. Seems you would have thrived in that environment. Lol. But I guess if I did not own an atv I would beat my sled up as well.

Love the white wash paint job outside. And those rooms are to die in. I mean for. Whoever is doing the lipstick on the pig scam looks like they were all kicked out of those beds for the photos. Left there booze out and all lol. To bad had a few good memories there.

Really sucked to see magic carpet trails on my way up to Alban only to hit more rocks than one deserved in the Sudbury area. That being said it was great on day 2 out of windy lake back to Alban over the top of Sudbury. Little snow around whitefish the further west you go

Coolbane is good with mud and rocks. Sled eats them all day. Good luck with your run.

Yes coolbane your right on this one. I heard this from a close contact with the club. But was in fact misinterpreted of the parry sound northbay closure. Sorry for posting this . Safe for now.

Well this is a situation. I am sure some pissed off anti snowmobile person called this one in. We are not held in a high light that's for sure. Since I heard on the radio that the order won't be lifted till case counts stable at 1000 per week. That's 6 to 8 weeks away. You see what's coming . So you can stay at home or ride where and when you can. I am going to my cottage and do just that. Life's short. And both covid and sledding are calculated risks.

This is so sad. I read the news at work as I always keep updated on my cottage happenings. It really bummed me out. I hope the little girl makes as best of recovery as she can as well as her parents. Words can't describe the emotions they all must be going through. As for the dogs they do need to be dispatched. My wife rescues all breeds of dogs from everywhere. I woke up this morning with her Mexico pit bull mix licking my face. This dog was beat starved mutilated and more prior to rescue. Now after a year it's trusting and loving of humans again. Most time owners are the problem.

Had the pto crank bearing let go. Did not strip down entirety to see all the carnage. Bits of bearing visable thru intake . Piston not coming up to TDC. Time was the factor so had a used motor thrown in . Met Marc at plazez auto wreckers and was a great experience. Knows his stuff and had me running in 4 days from the incident. Just was cold calling people on my ride back from Quebec. Have over 3000km on this replacement engine now. If the hours were accurate on the used one I should be good for a couple more seasons. Gas and brp oil were not the factor in the failure.

I can accept that a two stroke is basically a ticking bomb . No surprises. A little disappointed that the 850 is not what skidoo made it out to be. Not any better than the 800. I traded my 2014 800 in running with near same km that mine blew. 10000km .
Going to keep my 1200 for a long time .

Your very thorough on your mechanical analysis. Have to wonder why the average rider would buy one without this knowledge. Not a fan of dealers that slap back in the same old parts till the warranty is up. Gotta wonder about that key thing . In this day and age holding a key till it runs is primative. My friends are all so spooked about the kick back if you let it go premature. I will check the Mc master Carr site out. Love that place.

Wow great pictures. I will suggest the better bushing material to him. Again he was hoping they would have debugged there system after 5 model years. Thanks for the dimensions and tip . Also can tease him about the Saturn shifter.

He also has 2st Doo's and is very familiar with RER, but the mechanical gearcase is different, and most don't give it the care that it needs.
I'm not talking PM, I mean care as in baby-ing it into the shifted gear.
When you shift a mechanical reverse snowmachine, you need to burp the gas a wee bit to let the gear splines line up and drop where it's to be.
This is no different than how snowmachines were before RER, just that reverse is WAY more popular now than back then.
Remember - burp the throttle a bit. Maybe even a cpl times before you give'r, to let that gear slide in where it's to go.

Yes I am glad they are going to reopen. At least someone is willing to try. You have to sacrifice alot of time to make this a go. Obviously it's not for everyone.Now show them the potential of the Spucedale and others that have gone under.
