  1. Last two trucks I purchased had take it or leave it 0% financing (current truck for 8 years). The sale price was the same with or without the financing. On other models they were offering cash discounts instead of 0%. It just depends on what incentives the manufacturer is offering at the time. The new snowmobile I ordered for the fall - last one was 15 years ago, as with all non-essential toys, will be cash. I do agree with spending some money on luxuries, within reason, while you are young, once you have established a steady income. Life goes by quickly.
  2. Unfortunately they don't sell snowmobiles, but for anything Honda, KW Honda is fantastic. Its really frustrating these days to attempt make a major purchase. In the past 6 months I have not received any follow up from a truck dealer (purchased new truck at a different dealer), 2 tractor dealers (purchased new tractor at different dealer) and still waiting for the snowmobile dealer to call back (sent e-mail on weekend and v-mail on Monday - not holding my breath). Without going into details, it should have been apparent to all these dealers that I was a serious buyer.
  3. I think there are sellers out there who don't know, or hope that buyers don't know that tax needs to be paid when the ownership changes. I see lots of ads that say "I just paid $X out the door, so I am giving you a great deal by only asking the MSRP"
  4. In the last 6 months I have purchased a new truck and a new tractor. The number of dealers I talked to while shopping who never followed up is shocking.
  5. As a dirt biker, I don't get the fascination with getting stuck in the mud. This is an absolutely miserable experience with a bike. No winches, burn up all your energy pulling your bike, and probably a couple others out of the mud, ride the rest of the day with 50 LB of mud on your bike and all over your gloves. No thank you. Now that I also have an ATV, I still have no interest in going anywhere near a mud hole.
  6. We have an early '90's Honda outboard that is getting close to 10 years on its second boat. Still runs well, but we are seriously considering replacing it.
  7. West Montrose to Fergus, with a few side trips for a total of 50 miles. Right from my new home. Trails are really nice considering we still don't have a lot of snow on the ground.
  8. I have a question regarding the ITG. The trails near my house just went yellow yesterday, so I went out this morning. All seemed good where I got on the trail at a gravel road, but at the first major road crossing there was a trail closed sign. Not sure if the trail is open and the signs haven't been taken down yet, or if the trail has been closed. If it were not for the fact that the trial was just listed as open yesterday, I would have assumed that the ITG was behind and the trail closed, but under these circumstances, not sure if the trail is open or closed? As an aside, as an off road motorcyclist, I can say that the snowmobile trail system in comparison, is fantastic. We have some good places to ride motorcycles, but they are far away and can require multiple club memberships. A huge thank you to all of those who keep our snowmobile trail system running. It may not always be perfect, but it is much appreciated.
  9. I just switched my car insurance from TD. I bought a new car and moved - hours and hours on hold to make the changes. Called a broker I know and she got me a quote for everything and it came out less than TD, so it was a no brainer to make the change. She told me that there are a number of companies who will not take new business from anyone who does not have an absolutely spotless record. Still with Desjardins for all the off-road toys. The other companies want to insure my motocross bike as a street bike, at literally 10X the cost. $180 for liability on a 2005 Arctic Cat 660.
