sure, so 1 sled in an entire line-up.

What I'm saying is, I would like to see manu's go back to more basic starting line-up sleds.

I would rather an "option" to add on all the standard things now - that are costly - that I do not want and/or have any use for.

    I still ride an 800 2 stroke w/o electric start... :)

Has hand warmers and has been reliable - good enough for me

You and I my friend are in the same boat!…… albeit I’m getting tired of pulling over the ol 8 hundo!

That truck is an old second gen dodge ram, should be easy to spot with the colour and custom wheels

That truck is most likely stolen as well and will be torched after seadoo’s are delivered

My permit has been a donation the last several years due to hockey consuming every minute of my free time.

I still have a sled - still put a permit on it every year - if I get out for 50 miles or 500 miles - I'll take whatever I can get.

I hear ya!! As hard as I try to put on as many miles as possible…..it’s the simple things in life that get in the way!!…..either way,,, buy a permit, support the clubs and enjoy as much as you can!!

The show costs huge dollars to go to if it cannot be packed it is not worthwhile to a business

100%……Can’t sell enough merch to cover overall cost of hauling all the inventory, pay staff, and end up with ski kickers all day…. Especially if it was only going to be half capacity!

Haha, I forgot about that video! It sometimes feels like I’m herding cats for sure but we are a good team. Thanks for the Stoney Keppel Riders love! I love our little club and wish for other clubs to gather such a great group.

    Love stopping at that clubhouse!

I believe the bigger issue is the lack of volunteers,  and the workload on the ones that do the work. I know that in our club, which I have only been involved with for 3 years now, there are only maybe 4 or 5 people who actively seek trail permissions and routing. And that is for approximately 130kms of trail. In farm country. And I am the young guy in the crowd at 48yrs old.

My local club currently has a good solid group of young  determined and dedicated volunteers. I’ve done plenty of work in past years with the club and on my own as well. Looking forward to keeping it all afloat!!

While i totally agree with trimming the fat sort to speak, and getting  things streamlined etc, i think this thought process, would put more pressure on clubs to open trails, that usually need really exceptional winters to have open trails, actually open their trails with very very low snow. Which in turns makes more landowner issues etc. I witnessed some of our local trails, open, limited,  and it was complete dirt and mud and rocks. Thats not right imo. Some spots i doubt very little the groomer never even made a pass.

I noticed this on my drive up Sunday morning. I couldn’t believe the groomer had even made a pass. Even my local club said they were going to attempt and we have even less snow than Strathroy!

  8. So over the course of the weekend I was informed that the ofsc has decided  to “trim the fat” on southern clubs in D5 by reducing amount of trails a club can operate. My concern is that this is the beginning of closing our local club and trail system. So if we open this year we basically have one trail that connects to other club trails throughout the district. So this being said, how long until they start shutting down more and more smaller clubs and reducing even more trails? I have no problem trailering, as I’ve done that for many years but will I find myself having to trailer even further to get a “local” ride in? Just wonder if anyone has heard any mention of this to the ones who are more heavily involved?

I have been using a BV2S for the last several years and when it finally started to fog it was because I wore out the yellow rubber face cup. The rubber got thin and too soft to make a proper seal.  Replaced that part as well as modifying the center or main breath box valve by adding an additional hole to allow more air in during mild conditions.  I now have a solid, one, three and four hole valves made to cover the whole temp range. These helmets still work great for me.

Mine is the heated visor but is only plugged in and used during freezing rain.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the helmet. I’ve replaced everything in the breathbox. Next time out I’m going to try my old balaclava. Wonder if the new Klim one I have isn’t allowing a perfect seal

Both Mrs. Turbo Doo and myself are using the Doo Oxygen helmets. There was a bit of a learning curve to them, mainly a proper balaclava. But we both really like them alot. Awesome fit, comfort and a very wide field of vision.

I’ve heard lots of good things regarding the oxygen helmets. Especially from those like yourself that say they are great once you figure things out. What’s the deal on the balaclava? Also do they have to be plugged in all the time or only in certain conditions? I have friends that just purchased them as well but they haven’t been out to try them yet.

I wear an FXR MX helmet with breath guards and carry a couple of pairs of higher end 100% goggles.   1 pair is tinted and the other is clear.    I can flip back and forth depending on the light conditions.   I prefer this set up over anything after years of riding off ride bikes.   MX helmets just "feel" better to me.

When it is really cold, I have an HJC Adventure Style helmet with a heated shield that I really like and the best part was that I bought it on close out from Parts Canada for $150 + tax.   Its a $350 helmet normally.

That was the exact set up I had. Had several pairs of goggles for different scenarios. I’m sure mx style helmets and goggles today are quite a bit better than 15-20yrs ago.

  12. I wore Mx style and goggles for years. Not sure I want to go back to that or not. I hate having a cord. However they are handy for those days when freezing/fogging up happens

  13. What do y’all have, wear and suggest? Currently have a BV2S. Recently started to fog up on me. If I can’t figure out the fogging issues I will be on the look for a new bucket. Any input would be great.
