  10. That's sad that these people jump the fair boxes but yet they want/need a ride. They need to pay their share or the system will collapse.Same thing could happen with our OFSC system if we continue to have freeloaders.
  11. Minus 13 this morning at Sand Lake. Sunny and no clouds.
  12. Wow lots of damage to the shoreline.I also saw on CTV news the other day that Wasaga is not going to clean up the sand that washed in with this latest storm until spring.Where all the summer tourist shops are. Actually it was the Mayor that stated that on the news.

  16. Minus 19 at Sand lake last night.Sun is shining and burning off the fog on the lake. Now minus 17 at 8:25 am.
  17. Minus 15c last night in Kearney. Light flurries and minus 12.5c right now.
  18. I agree with you Wildbil. I will stop at The Jolly Roger and if Sprucedale is sold and open i will also stop there.I always give new owners a chance. The past is the past .We as snowmobilers need to support these local establishments so that their doors can stay open. I like to have options on places to stop when i want to warm up and have a bite to eat.Holding grudges against a place because your soup was bad 5years ago with the previous owners is pretty narrow minded.
  19. Minus 11c this morning in Kearney. No fresh snow.
  20. I think from my experience with cruising through Sprucedale on my Harley many times this past summer,it was very quiet. Not many people out and about during the week.Weekends were busier but i think it would be tough to carry/support the hotel during the summer months. You would probably have to offer an Atv package that included a room upstairs and meals. The winter is a different story as the Top trail passes right by it. The food wasn't always the best but it had hot coffee and was a nice place to warm up at when out sledding.Hopefully it is sold soon and the Sprucedale hotel opens for winter.
  21. Minus 9c in Kearney at Sand lake this morning. 4 to 5 inches of fresh snow.
  22. Got about 3 inches of snow at Kearney. Just enough heavy wet snow to bring down a tree on a nearby hydro line.Hydro was off from 7am till 5:30 pm.
  23. The club in my district is all paid and i'am pretty sure all drivers for Highland Rovers are also paid. A lot of the groomers are guys that have been laid off their regular jobs for the winter. So they are looking for some income for the winter.
  24. Years ago most operators were volunteers. Now cause of liability/ insurance reasons most if not all operators are paid.
