  1. If they fit it out with a 4 stroke they might be caught up to BRP. What's coming from BRP next year though?
  2. No, won't be that. Lawyers and risk management will be the issue. That or OFSC wanting to be able to dhut the mapping down in the off season.
  3. The fact that they partnered with Garmin on the gauge is a good thing. Hopefully that pushes all of the OEM's to improve what they offer. I wonder if you will be able to load maps like you can on a garmin gps.
  4. Number of ads seems to be growing. Interesting to see the spread in pricing. Still some people that think covid pricing is still a thing. I think were headed back towards normal finally.
  5. Yep that's spot on. Only thing I might try is the club trail loop north of Carleton sur mur. Maybe take the club trail over to Gaspe and cut out Perce Rock. Nice Itenary.
  6. My 2015 hasn't been oiled. Still holding strong 370,000 km in. May look at doing that this year. Used to be I wore the body out before the drivetrain. Verdict is out on what will wear out first. Pretty impressed so far. Was a GM guy, but this ford is working out ok. Just stupid fixes like you get with any of them.
  7. Watch the wind forecadt in addition to the snow forecast. 6" of snow doesn't sound like much. But it ends up falling 2' deep at higher elevations. Then if the storm brings high winds the drifts are 6 plus feet tall.
  8. Just don't go the last weekend of the year when everything south of the Northern Corridor has melted and had rain. Or at Christmas. Made that mistake once in March. Left with a bad taste for Cochrane. But it was really my own fault for when I picked to go.
  9. I really find it hit and miss. Depends where you go and when. Had rough trails up near parent / through to saint anne du lac. But it was Sunday on the free weekend. Our trip to Saguenay was almost all perfect grooming wise. Similar in Ontario. New Liskeard was exceptional when i was there. Found some rough trail down near Temiscaming same day. Nothing is perfect. That's snowmobiling.
  10. Looks pretty reasonable. I'm having some troubles stomaching the Quebec increase this year. $900 for two sleds is getting up there. This is really in line with what I would expect in Ontario for this year. With inflation it's only fair. Fuel prices are rising again and equipment costs definitely haven't dropped.
  11. Looks like those prices are official. https://www.fcmq.qc.ca/en/trail-permit/line-trail-permits
  12. Only if the crates were marked Polaris.
  13. Yeah genmar boats got cheap around 2008 (financial crisis led them to cut costs). That plan ultimately failed with many of their lines going bankrupt. Too bad as they had great products for years prior to. My 08 is a trailer boat for that reason. Sits in the water for a max of 2 weeks at a time each summer for holidays. Hull looks great because of this (and some very large bumpers that we swear by).
  14. For day to day use this is a non issue isnt it? Just when using in older equipment or for longterm storage where it rears its head causing issues.
  15. Even the newer ones like the switch with the composite hulls? I thought most osmosis issues were on fiberglass units?? My newer larson (2008) is like that. Has to stay on the trailer. Our older 1990 model has been left in the drink 4 - 5 months a year for 10 years and still no osmosis on it. Seems to depend on the quality of materials the fiberglass was made with.
  16. Polaris was in all three for a while. I believe they dropped their pwc lineup and now own a boat company.
  17. I think BRP would disagree with that statement. Yamaha probably hasn't done well in the last few years paying someone else for their manufacturing and abandoning R and D which eroded their market share.
  18. Found this video that is interesting.
  19. Anyone have any insight on how the fuels we all buy will be changing in the next few years with this regulation. Is it automatically an increase in ethanol content? Will it apply to high test too?
  20. Yeah everyones got their own opinion. Personally, I'm looking for my sled to ride like its on rails. Need the skis on the ground to do that. With the flip chip you can still get that ski lift if you want can't you?
  21. I think you got the Friday sled. From 2021 on though you get the ras x suspension. So that's a definate consideration. 2022 I believe they went from the 150 hp turbo to the 180 hp turbo.
  22. Not likely. They have their own suite of 4 stroke engines already they could utilize if they chose to.
  23. Textron that owns CAT is big. The concern is keeping them interested so Arctic Cat doesn't suffer a similar fate. I don't think going to two OEM's would be a good thing for the sport. Competitive drives innovation.
