  1. Some Skidder Trail riding east of Wakomata Lake yesterday. It was a great gym-workout. Chad and the Long-Track did very well and broke trail.
  2. You sure get around OX. Great photo and thanks for sharing! We were there yesterday. Can't wait to go back.
  3. A sunny day at +3 as we took on a powerline route today north of Thessalon, Ontario. This is the lower link of the Wakomata Wilderness run to Black Creek and Aubrey Falls. An enjoyable day but too warm for February.
  4. I hear you Ski. I've been checking out the 14 day forecasts for many parts of Ontario and Michigan and WOW! We usually eye up Petoskey or Traverse City for an early April visit to walk around snow-free. It might be earlier this year. We are heading north on highway 129 tomorrow and further plugging away at the Wakomata Wildnerness route and will try and break trail from the Tunnel Lake side up to the east side of Wakomata on the powerline. Snowdepth was good in there a week back, so should be a good outing. Dan
  5. Snowed in the Sault last night. Winter has been stable here in Algoma with plenty of snow. Most of our riding has been north-east or north of the city.
  6. I can add to this. The Red-Top is only open during summer. The General Store has a Coffee Take-Out Counter only. There is 1 table, but the locals utilize it throughout the day. 3 Aces Chinese restaurant is the only place open in Iron Bridge during winter. Even then, not 7 days a week. Usually closed on Mondays or sometimes for the entire week if they head to Toronto to visit family. Good food there.
  7. A couple of others to add: Pier 17 in Blind River. You can sled right to it. Pretty nice place to enjoy right along the river. Back Home Bistro in Massey.
  8. Wakomata Wilderness We were back on the Wakomata Wilderness for the first time this season. A scenic way of getting to Black Creek Outfitters.
  9. Aubrey Falls Trading Post - Flashback Video from 2015 Some video footage of Aubrey Falls Trading Post when the gas pumps were still in and operational. On this trip, we ran the Domtar powerline over to Aubrey Falls Trading Post, then down to Dunlop Lodge and back. It got pretty nippy that night.
  10. We were up at Black Creek Outfitters today. Had to opportunity to meet some new Michigan friends.
  11. No fuel at Aubrey Falls Trading Post, however, fuel is available at Black Creek Outfitters, 1 mile south, along the the trail.
  12. I too was stumped last month with one of my tires, which is also mounted on an aluminum rim. I took a spray bottle and sprayed where the tire meets the rim. Voila! Took it to a tire shop and they removed, cleaned and re-installed the tire. Hope you are able to locate your leak.
  13. My thoughts are with you WildBill during this difficult time. Thank you for sharing your update.
  14. Aubrey Falls Trading Post We stopped in to meet the new owners of the Aubrey Falls Trading Post. Glad to see the lights are back on, offering another destination for riders.
  15. Aubrey Falls / Black Creek Outfitters Today, we spent the day riding the Aubrey Falls region and stopped in for an enjoyable lunch at Black Creek Outfitters.
  16. Black Creek Outfitters Cathy and Shane were out for a sled run last night and are reporting plenty of snow for adventurous wilderness riders. She said she may snap some photos today. Aubrey Falls Trading Post I was in conversation with Randy a few days ago and we'll get a clearer picture tomorrow about what his plans are for the winter at Aubrey Falls Trading Post. Chad and I are trailering to Black Creek / Aubrey Falls tomorrow for a day of exploratory wilderness riding. https://aubreyfalls.ca
  17. Good to hear Eric, that you made it north to Dub. Sounds like some descent snow-depth and hopefully you can get a few rides in..
  18. Some Sault Ste. Marie Reality Jokes...Enjoy "In Sault Ste. Marie, you snow-blow a path to the garage.....so the burglars can break in" "In Sault Ste. Marie, you have a 50/50 chance of getting your snow-blower stuck going downhill" "In Sault Ste. Marie, my sled is stylish, sexy, comfortable and elegantly maintained....the house on the other hand"
  19. We did well in Sault Ste. Marie. The local radio station has us at 97cms for 3 days and the local news station has us at 107cms.
  20. Wishing my fellow OC'rs a very Merry Christmas. Dan - Sault Ste. Marie
  21. 10cms of new snow, in the past 24 hours, here in the Sault. Nothing out of the normal. North of the city got double+. Still way short of the Red Alerts forecast and hype.
  22. This will be welcome news for the Sault Trailblazers. That's 2 1/2 feet of snow, if the projection is anywhere near being accurate.
  23. There was fresh powder in Searchmont, so we went out for a morning ride today. Temperature was -5.
