Maybe they come up with one monthly payment and you can trade sled in April and get a new atv. Come late fall they take atv back and give you a new sled.  Would be a clever idea.

Don Coffey Sales tried that about 30 years ago and it put them out of business.

How bad are the St. Once Numbers?

I know and its not my place to say, but they are not as bad as people are saying.    I know of several dealers that were down 80-90% from last years #s.

But those same dealers made out like bandits for the last 3 years too

Most of the smart ones know that they are going to give some of that money back over the next couple of years.

  4. New sleds arent going to be more money in the fall than they are today.    Once the manufacturers wipe the tears and/or puke off their desks after seeing Snow Check orders they will have no choice but to heavily rebate non-currents.

I was told 2nd hand, but by someone in the Powersports Business that the Polaris dealer in Sudbury has well over 200 new 2023/2024 sleds in stock right now.    They will need some serious assistance to get rid of those or they will risk going broke.

My local Yamaha dealer apparently spring checked more Yamaha sleds for 2025 than St Onge I heard

Thats not a surprise based on the #s I am hearing that St Onge did.

That being said, there were still SRXs available as of last Thursday and they were only building 998 of them.

I seen this on marketplace looked like a ok deal

That sled has been for sale since last fall.     The decals are not the correct ones for the machine.    My spidey sense is telling me there is a story about that sled.

Only problem with used 850s is if the motor lets go out of warranty. Very expensive to repair. Some will go 20000kms some won’t see 4000.

850s from any brand are a gamble out of warranty.    That is why I am looking for a 600R.    I have no problem buying a lower mileage one that has no warranty.

Performance Recreation is blowing away all their sleds. They have a '21 650 VR1 137 with 1500 miles. Were asking $11.5 K. Now ad says "make an offer". Anyone not buying a sled now isn't seriously shopping, except maybe someone like Scott looking for a cherry late model Doo 600R. They are still scarce. VR1 650s are scarce too, but they are out there at good prices.

    Is that Jens old sled?

I am not in a huge panic but I am definitely keeping my eyes open for a nice 600X or something comparable for $10K.   All my buddies are getting rid of their sleds and I would have ridden more this winter if my dad would have come with me.    My mom wont let him buy another sled but he is always up for rip somewhere.

Went by Mount St. Louis/Moonstone on Sunday - sure looked like the hills had plenty of white on them for skiing

Is it still open?    I assumed that most ski hills closed down already?

It will have snow on it until May and often small patches are still visible into early June.

As Strong Farmer said, KL is a long way to drive for just a few local trails. If there is no connection to Cochrane or Tinmmins, I will be in full motorcycle/dirt bike mode.

Agreed.    My sled is washed, polished, fogged and in my trailer for the summer.    It will take more than 154kms of yellow trails for me to drive 10hrs north at this point.

I am in dirt bike mode at this point as well.

Ice is now out on our lake - earliest its been gone in the 36 years we have had a place there.

Where are you?    We have a water access cottage in Port Severn and according to our neighbour, the lake is wide open as well.    Unfortunately the township has cement blocks across the public launches.

We still wont go up for at least a month though.

I don't even bother switching them now. Leave on all year they last longer then you would think.

Are you that guy who drives around on black rusty steel rims all year?

I cant believe how much nicer (and quieter) my F150 is with the original tires back on.     I dont think I am even going to bother putting them on next year.

  13. Snows are off all of our cars as of today.

Sled is washed, fogged and in trailer.

Summer toy car out of storage and in my driveway.

    I am officially over winter.

You would think that they would increase the rebates on the 2023s and 2024s after April 1 so as help get rid of old stock instead of dealers sitting on them and paying 12% interest for another 8 months. BRP is very strange however.

Nope.    The “rebate budget” gets moved to ATVs and SXS.     The sled business gets put on the back burner by all OEMs over the summer.

Truthfully, no one is buying anything at any price today.

I wonder if a dealer would prefer you buy a leftover 2024 at discount or Snowcheck a 2025?

Unless you are taking delivery/paying in full for the machine, they want you to order the 25.

I saw a 2023 Backcountry XRS 850 2023 for sale on FB for 14800 yesterday.

Thats all it is worth IMO.    G4s are starting to become less desirable now that the G5 has been out for 2 seasons.

From today onwards, you need to buy something based on the machine being another year older as you wont be able to use it until next season anyhow.

2022 Backcountry 850 XRS were selling for $14900 back in Nov .     That 23 is only worth that next fall.

I wouldnt bother tying up the money today unless I was buying something like that for $13K max.
