Reports suggest on a trail:
A 51-year-old resident of the Greater Sudbury community of Dowling has died following a snowmobile crash Saturday on trail C111D about six kilometres from Cartier.
I am guessiong @soupkids may have more info being in his back yard.
Either way, it is unfortuenate and as stated, accidents happen, regardless of trail status, speed, etc......
Yep, I think for some it’s a mission or their job to just mess with ya.
An old one is I'm out of the country, I’ll take unseen and deposit money into your account….ill send a friend to come collect…..
I used to wonder why in todays age people still put their stuff for sale by road with sign, but maybe that is the best way now a days - the old school way!
So gotta ask, is that to blow snow off trailer or the driveway…lol
I was thinking about the downed trees last night with the wind, snow and than mild temps….bad recipe!
Exactly - and why places like haliburton region with higher elevations usually fair better.....small amounts of snow fall each night that is not even forecasted.
I know it would be nice, but I do not even look at snow amounts south of Dorset typically, Gravenhurst as the season gets going or Kinmount with the railbed......could not imagine looking in my back yard or Kitchener or even Barrie for significant snow amounts to have any hopes for the season.
Would like to hear the updates for sure - it will be nice to scratch the itch maybe next week and the forest is a good spot for that while the OFSC trail system hopefully comes to life!
Ya, we were there two years ago, generally it was pretty quiet with traffic, one section of trail closer to where there were homes, ski hill, etc....the trail was beat up, but that was it.
Define "southern ontario" is my question......snow is only really good north of us....
Based on the forecast for a few locations, it seems to be greater amounts more south.
But, better than nothing anywhere!
Baysville webcam - looking pretty wet.
The live cam on Kawagama shows snow, but very wet.
Headed down to -9 tonight, so all that moisture will start to freeze up, looks to still be staying south of 0 degrees for the next little while too.
I have no doubt there are folks and people that go as far as possible, espcially fleets, just for me personally and my own gear, no thanks regardless of other circumstances.
Plus gas vs. diesel engines operate quite a bit differently.
But these types of programs & experiences do provide another perspective on the topic for sure.
