Not just you, @Strong Farmer and @skidooboy were right with you....lol. What a season though, one for the record books. Onwards and upwards - cannot get worse for winter, weatherwise.....next year will be better!! Good day yesterday to ski though! The resorts are not going to see a stelar March break on the hills.......
  2. Good to hear. Must have scared the crap out of them. Tie-rod is an easier fix, doesn’t look like tunnel or running board is buckled, so perhaps it can be massaged back into shape.
  3. Hmm, taller spindles, wonder where that idea came from….lol Wonder if it’s lawsuit worthy.
  4. How do you find that steering mod - much difference? Did the sled come with the riser or you added it, do you know which riser was used and did yuo need to change anything to make it work?
  5. I had the Cat mountain seat if I am not mistaken, so taller and firmer. I recall on one of my other cats before my last one, I bought the mountain seat for a taller firmer seat as well.
  6. Oh, working on anything at the top of the 900 is just silly, plugs, injectors, etc.....way too tight, the rest is not that bad. Not sure about the 2-strokes, I imagine with a twin vs. tripple, there is more room, but the 2-strokes are not as wide either for that reason, so the space shrinks from side to side.
  7. Heh, it is just money, right..... The 2022 seat really is too soft, I think that is the worst part of it....especilly coming off a Cat that is much firmer and I recall my Cat seat was pretty narrow too, not sure about the one on your Cat though to compare with from a narrow standpoint.
  8. Gladly ! I really enjoyed the 850 seat, firmer, higher, not as wide, easier to slide side to side if you ride like that & it looks better....zero negatives to make mention of, but even the 850 seat can use a little more height if you are taller, imo. I did ride a buddies 900T sled that had the comfort seat that is also a heated seat, and it felt like it was firmer, his sled is a 2021 as well, not sure if the seat foam chnaged since then or something to do with the heated seat. Also rode a buddies 2024 900TR with the new comfort seat, which also felt better then my 2022 older style comfort seat. New comfort seat loses the storage of course, to me is not a big deal with the sport bag and my 40l dry bag, room to spare based on what I carry on a trip. Here is a picture of it for ref as well.
  9. Why is that? I have not really investigated what is "new" about it, so not sure what all is different.
  10. So you are riding and not sharing any updates, condition reports or pictures - why you holding out in us ......good to hear some more folks enjoying the season while and where they still can,
  11. Will do, Nunz - but I do already have one of the 17l sport bags though.
  12. Couple of guys I rode with each had one, I know you also suggested it to me last year as well when I was looking for options that I could use iwth the gas caddy, but with the comfort seat, I did not think it would work, but it does work on that seat! They do seem nice and a big bonus that they are not totally out back with the extra weight. I do not think I am buying more bags though, already have three, that seem to do the trick......but I may consider selling the adventure bag and maybe picking this one up.
  13. You should how much beer those expeditions with that massive suitcase on the back can carry, they are big enough to fit a small person inside…lol
  14. Ya, I realy do not think most will feel the difference - at the end of the day it is an extra 4" on the snow and maybe 2 more lugs. I do recall how that 13.5" track on the F7 sure liked to spin vs. the 15" track. It will be nice to run the 900TR to get a feel for it, as I assume you consider your next sled of choice. I think they are nice machines, but if pounding roughstuff all day, any 4-stroke will not be fun. I do not find the steering hard, but I am sure if you rode your sled and than jumped to a 4-stroke, it would be a big adjustment. I was able to run a 2024 900TR with smart shocks on my recent trip, with his track studded, it felt quite a bit diferent in the traction repartment & getting the power down so much better, I really should get a studded track on mine, but I really like the IR the way it is and the looser sliding feeling in the corners. As for the smart shocks, not that I played with it, I still preferred my sled with the Elka shocks for some reason - I am sure more of a matter of what I am used too and could get used to the SS too and enjoy them as well......I did feel as though the front SS were much better than then how the skid felt with the SS, should be an option to onlt get the SS in the front, IMO. The guy that rode my sled, with the performance enhancement added, while I rode his sled, said my sled felt like his 850 that he rode last year.
  15. We were expecting much worse conditions and a lot more traffic given the current Ontario, and US conditions - but it was 90+ percent great and not overly busy.
  16. Last run for us in QC from clova to senneterre, 275 km. Trail 83 was great most of the way, one small stretch that was thin and some clanging of rocks, closer to senneterre. It was a great trip and odd how running almost the same route a year ago feels so different and not the same….i enjoyed the run into and out of chiboug a lot more this time.
  17. Ya I got it. I don’t think you find many stock yamicats, tunes are so cheap on those , all do it, and most seem to say the stock turbo yamicats need the tune to make them more fun to ride.
  18. Do you really notice that much of a difference between 129 and 137. i kind of recall when I went from my F7 to my crossfire years ago , that was the same jump, I recall the track feeling more planted, but that was about it.
  19. Lol, nice to have choices!! talking about passing people….we caught up to some slower groups and they all wave us by when safe to do so. I actually commented how this sadly doesn’t happen often in Ontario. great to get out, seems like more seat time for you this year!
  20. I didn’t want another cat so bought the doo. I knew it wouldn’t compete with the cat, which I was fine with. I’m happy I bought the doo, even more now.
  21. Mine with and without the kit will get to 100mph fast, but as blackstar said, the doo doesn’t have the legs like the cat beyond that. With the kit though, the 0 to 100 jam is a huge improvement. I haven’t really tried any top speed runs, honestly though, that doesn’t interest me much, I much prefer the bottom end pull/thrill.
  22. If you want power that’s much cheaper, buy the cat hands down.
  23. I bought mine from Chris, rather buy from Canadian reseller. plenty of folks buying them. Mike Guliz is another guy/ YouTuber that had Chris install one. you are right, don’t need it, but what a difference it makes, totally changes the sleds attitude.
