  1. Go back to my post on page 4. I updated the actual cost for each vehicle from the policy. Tax not included.
  2. I think its what THEY call Kushog Lake. Must be close to the mythical SnowTrax Skunkworks.
  3. Just where is this mythical Kevlar Lake ?
  4. Definitely. That is why my Sonata costs so much having to drive into the GTA with all those imported drivers.
  5. So, give us some numbers. Don't keep us guessing.
  6. All my stuff is insured with the Guarantee Company of North America which was just bought by Intact. House is on its own policy with GCNA. Vehicles on another policy below. $2M Liability on all. 2011 Sonata daily drive commuter car. (full coverage) $1516 Driving from Woodstock to Mississauga daily. 2006 Dodge Dakota. (full coverage) $661 Vintage 1987 Monte Carlo SS (appraised $19,500) $266 1985 Honda Nighthawk S 750 (no collision) $516 1995 A/C Wildcat Touring (no collision) $127 2001 A/C Thundercat Widowmaker (no collision) $210 2015 A/C XF7000XLR (full coverage) $364 2006 Toy Carrier Snowmobile Trailer $57 I was quite surprised that they would do an appraised vintage car, and a motorcycle on the same policy. I have been through two brokers that dropped GCNA so I just move the policies to the next local broker that uses them. The brokers that dropped GCNA tried to insure everything through different carriers but was more money. The sleds and the bike were always the problem. I was recently rear-ended in Woodstock with the commuter car while crossing the CN tracks. $4000 damage including the rear truck bulkhead panel. Everything was covered including 2 weeks of car rental with no deductible charged back to the other insurance company. No waiting on the phone even thought the reps were working at home. I need to get rid of some of this stuff. It will eventually die due to age. I can't see messing around calling the internet insurance companies with rates and service like this.
  7. So how did these people enter the country by land ? Did our CBSA not turn them back ? If they can come in, why can't ski ? Why can executives enter and not need to quarantine ?
  8. I have taken 1000iu B every day for years. Vitamin B and 40 Creek is my defense.
  9. When have you ever been hassled for not having the permit in the "approved" location ? The cops only care about the val tag and insurance. You will never see a trail warden stopping sleds. The dumb ass sled manufacturers won't make smooth plastic in the "approved location". I won't put it on the windshield because it just takes one roll over to break it. I put the pass on the sled where the plastic is smooth. The pass is on the sled. Enough said.
  10. You will be fine if you Mustard Gas your room.
  11. My TWO passes arrived in the mail box today in ONE envelope, same as last year. Just about the same speed as Purolator. Now they can sit on the counter for weeks until I bring my sleds home. Don't really care what the numbers are.
  12. Use option 3. I don't think it will stick to that rough plastic. It will blow off at speed.
  13. Does this mean that Canada Post is faster than Purolator ???
  14. Already got the shot on Wednesday night. Just walked in the back door of Shoppers Drug Mart. I was the only one there.
  15. I sent an email to "permits" and asked if my purchase was valid and how can I prove it. I got the confirmation email within 5 minutes of me sending it. I guess all is well with my order.
  16. I ordered two permits online this morning. They took my money, I'm sure. No email confirmation or receipt and no page to print at the end of the process. This is still some kind of $hit show.
  17. I would like to see that at 6pm when it is -25C.
  18. Dave, Keep an eye on the weld on the axle square tube on top at the short side frame mounting bracket. Mine cracked above the weld on both sides. e\Ended up making a 3/16" "U" plate to capture the tube from the bottom and had it welded all around to stiffen the bracket up to the top bend. All is good after this past winter. My trailer is only single axle so it took all the side force. You may be OK with dual axles.
  19. The cross drill comes out between the seal and back bearing. Spin the hub while greasing in the warm of summer and by the time you used half a cartridge, the new grease will have come through the back bearing, through the front bearing, and most of the old grease will puke on the ground. Feel the end play and adjust as needed. If you hear something dragging change the bearings. I think it is a good idea to buy real NTN or SKF cones and cups and replace the Chinese units in the hubs. Don't buy the $20 blister pack bearing kit. I use Dino grease.
  20. Nothing like a lever on the floor.
  21. Whenever I had a crap my pants moment, I was too busy steering to be able to pull the electric brake handle if I had one.
  22. I would think that surge brakes do this automatically. The more moving mass of the trailer, the more overhauling load against the truck means more compression of the master cylinder makes more brake force. Maybe someone who uses these trailers can comment on this. Do you feel much more force to hold back with a larger load ? I would think that the challenge is to keep the lines properly bled.
  23. It don't matter which way you go, you will never keep brakes on a trailer used in the winter.
  24. So does that mean that all of us over 60 with underlying health issues are in fact doomed and we should make sure we keep out life insurance as long as possible and enjoy the last days we have left ?
