  1. Do you have an extra bedroom? ..lol...
  2. Thanks Puggs. I need min 72" door height. Too bad.
  3. Do you know the rear door opening height? Weight capacity? Thanks
  4. Rockland Wheels up near Ottawa is offering a 5 year warranty on non-current Arctic Cat sleds. For example: 2024 Arctic Cat Riot 600 146/1.75 with 5 Year Warranty | Snowmobiles | Ottawa | Kijiji
  5. Especially gas stations👍
  6. I don't know if Polaris wants to bring the "Storm" name back. Didn't those motors blow up with low mileage on them? That's what I associate the "Storm" name with. The 90's were a bit of blur for me so I may be incorrect. I do love the name tho!!

FWIW. This time last year was the first time we opened the trails for the season and it lasted for about 7 weeks. We still have a decent base throughout 60-70% of our trails, especially in the northern portion. As of right now, it wouldn't take much snow to get the many of the trails open again. However, the southern portion needs cold temps and snow. The frozen water holes and swamps are getting soft and wet again.
  9. Hmm. Not a whole lot of good news in that post...lol.. Yes it's tough getting certain projects approved in a reasonable timeframe when it involves numerous different government agencies. Very frustrating! Doesn't EOTA allow ATVs on their trails year round? Do the ATVers pay to use their trails? Who covers their liability? Thank you for your efforts Jerry!💪
  10. B103 rail line from Kinmount to Haliburton. Was doing trail work in the Gooderham area this week and there was 6-8" on the ground plus probably another 2" over the last day.
  11. I'm glad the MOT doesn't pay for postage for reminders on the free renewals. Poor ROI. Maybe it's Dougie's(Ford) way to start instilling more personal responsibility/accountability on the general public. Hopefully it works and the trickle down effect will hit society at large in a few years!!!
  12. Believe it was an insurance issue. IIRC. The GRCA wanted the OFSC to assume all risks to all parties that used that trail, not just sleds. I believe it's a multi-use trail so there are many users on it. Believe there were issues with the GRCA up around Luther Marsh(between Grand Valley and Arthur) as well. Nice trail. Been through there numerous times when I lived in the Grand Valley area. Good luck!! Petition signed.
  13. Daughter was pulled over in the Ottawa area for just that and received a ticket earlier this year. Her plate is now valid..lol.. Believe the OPP have cameras that scan all the vehicle licence plates around them to verify that they are valid, not stolen, etc.. Pretty sure I saw/read something about it a few years ago.

  15. Spiderman is right. We need to get out of the litigious mentality that our society has become accustomed to. Personal accountability needs to return. Maybe someone can talk to Dougie Ford, (he's a sledder) to try initiate some protective legislation for the OFSC so riders can't sue for their own stupidity. The risk management, that all the clubs have to endure and enforce, is over the top IMO. We are just volunteers trying to create a trail system that we can all enjoy. Gets tiring when the "village idiot rider" has become the focus instead of efficiency.
  16. I don't have any skin in the game as I don't use a GPS and I'm not well versed in it. I do use the OFSC app and it works well for what I need. However: Perly's paper road maps shows you all the roads in Ontario including back roads and summer roads. No one knows if it's open or closed but the road is there at the "time" of printing. Same goes for the paper snowmobile trail maps. I use "Waze" for driving. It's an interactive app that lets users input current info, ie accidents, road closure, police, debris on road etc.. Is there a way for Trakmaps to incorporate that kind of technology into their app? Is there a way for the OFSC to incorporate up to date trail info into Trakmaps? Is it worthwhile($$) for Trakmaps or the OFSC to do so? Does Trakmaps update their trail app when the OFSC reroutes a trail during the season? I don't know. From my vantage point, if a rider is using Trakmaps as a turn by turn bible and the trail has a reroute/closure/landowner issue/etc and the rider hasn't checked the ITG, it creates a problem. A paper map does not. If you remove the GPS from the equation, it forces the rider to check the ITG/OFSC app for current conditions and puts the onus back on the rider. My $0.02.
  17. I switched most of my business to them about 10 years ago. I also saw an approx 30% drop on my vehicles when I moved from Markham to up here about 6 years ago. Don't think the sleds changed much tho.
  18. FWIW. Quarter Mile gas station on Curve Lake(Buckhorn) still shows no ethanol on their high test.
  19. I'm with The Personal. Believe you need to be in a union to use them. Not 100% sure anymore. $365 for 2017 ZR9000 $265 for 2015 Pantera 7000, Plus tax. Full coverage on both
  20. I realize this is a Cat thread but I appreciate that Yamaha did provide different sled chassis across their platform. Nobody does that anymore. One chassis, many motors.
  21. Hope that Yamaha still makes engines for the sled industry. I'm very impressed with 998 Turbo along with the 700 triple that I put over 30,000 hard kms on it with out opening it up! Damn thing wouldn't die!..lol Would love to see AC put a 700-750cc motor into their Catalyst. That's a happy power range for many.(135-150hp) Easier on clutches than the 800cc+. Offer something that the other OEMs don't have. Be unique like Cat has been in the past. Loved my Saber700!
  22. Went last year but not this year. Maybe TrakMaps will be discussed?... 🤷‍♂️ Nunz... Remember that pretty blue New Holland groomer in the parking lot last year that was supposed to go the Buckhorn club? Still haven't seen it!..lol Note.. We did get a new one at the end of last season in March. All good.👍
  23. I have a Mission 8x12' enclosed and a Avalanche 8x12' enclosed. The Mission is a much better build IMO. Many extras are standard. I have no issues with my Mission. Very happy with it. My Pantera fits with room to spare. The biggest thing is the size of the windshield which will determine how far forward you can place your sled. Hope that helps. Curious... What sled is 13' long?
  24. Completely agree with you. The Pantera has everything I need and I am very happy with it but I wanted more. Hence the tuned ZR9. I love and crave acceleration...lol.. Pantera pulls good to 140km/h and tops out at 160km/h(gps) on a long lake run. Takes a few miles to get there. The ZR9 is playing in a completely different league. It just pulls and pulls, even after 160km/h. Addictive!! However, I don't care about overall top end speed but just love the seemingly endless acceleration and pull! That's currently my want. Everyone's "enjoyment criteria" is unique. To some it's corner to corner, top speed, deep snow or flat cornering performance etc.. My wants now are different than 20-30 years ago and they will be different in 10 years from now. Get all the wants you can for our 2 months a year hobby!!
