  1. Checking the OFSC ITG.... B105 is yellow on the ITG with the exception of a straight stretch between Burnside Line and where it crosses the North River beyond Mt Stephen Rd. That stretch is closed. I suspect it's terrain and water... any insight would be appreciated.
  2. The data centres which I would have been visiting are essentially locked down and restricting access to their key personnel that actually need to be onsite. Their logical support teams have typically been working from home, using the people onsite as smart hands walking them through what to do and only going in when absolutely necessary. My visits have been deferred and are building quite a backlog. Yeah... I tried retirement and couldn't do it. Summer was okay with the boat and fishing, winter was okay when I could sled but the time in between I was going stir crazy so I went to work for myself. 2019 I saw 35 different US cities. Jan 1 to Mar 10 2020 was putting a real kink in my winter with travel to 17 US cities and 2 Canadian. This virus is driving me crazy. The highlight of my day is taking the dog for his early walk then the park to play with a half dozen other dogs in the afternoon.
  3. I have lost a very significant income as a result of COVID. I was in Manhattan Mar 9/10 then shut down. We will survive but my health and that of others is worth much more.
  4. The dealer can and does have the opportunity to make all the difference in the world for the customer. I will gladly pay a bit of a premium price if I know that the after sale customer service will be there when needed. Same with those who service our sleds and boats. Find someone you can count on to take care of you at a price fair to both themselves and you and stick with them.
  5. what makes you so sure they aren't... just because they aren't blocking roads, storming offices doesn't mean they aren't doing everything possible to work with the province and in the NBPS situation the local health unit... maybe bring out the pitchforks and torches would convince people they are working to address concerns.
  6. People need to show some respect for the residents.... it seems that is what they are asking for... reasonable times of day would be one of those.
  7. That reminds me I need to do my HST... pain in the butt...
  8. Well said. One of our friends is a nurse at RVH in Barrie... her, the doctors and other nurses are getting worn out but of course the virus and the stress on the healthcare system is a hoax. I guess someone should tell the doctor that's living in their motorhome in the driveway around the corner from us to be sure he doesn't bring anything home to his family it's all a waste since the virus is a hoax. Thankfully we have all those front line workers.
  9. A couple of friends work for Schneider and they have sold equipment both in Canada and the US. Their training for the customer is typically in person and hands on. They are now doing it all online.
  10. I'm glad he's actually listening to the medical experts rather than taking medical advice from the armchair, no medical experience people. Something tells me those people with the medical degrees and years of experience are far better qualified. Those working in our hospitals and dealing with the patients have the best perspective. He's also looking at what is being done in other provinces and countries.
  11. And when 10 experts all agree but you're able to find 1 dissenting expert with a different opinion... Whose opinion is the accepted one.
  12. Removal from the PC party only doesn't silence someone. He still remains an MPP for his riding and still has a vote and a voice in Queens Park. Just not as a member of the PC party
  13. Because they are internet facts only... you know... if it's on the internet it must be true. Lake Ontario is gradually evolving from a fresh water lake to salty ocean water since it is connected to the Atlantic by the St. Lawrence... I read it on the internet so it must be true. Publicly challenge your boss in any situation has consequences. Try similar in business and your looking at EI When it comes to expert opinion do you want that of the most senior experienced experts or do you want the quasi experts. He selectively quotes the armchair experts. Something like the person who says the hospitals can't be at risk of being overwhelmed and the staff exhausted because they saw an empty emergency waiting room. That's their expert opinion without looking at the rest of the massive hospital beyond that room. As for MPP Hilliier... his 2 sons were arrested in Perth for refusing to wear a mask in a local bar. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/hillier-brothers-mask-dispute-opp-perth-1.5831742
  14. Most red trails are due to not enough snow or hazards such as water and mud. Some may be closed due to landowners and some but likely few are closed due to virus related concerns.
  15. I saw an interview with one of the GTA police chiefs the day the state of emergency was announced. He clearly stated that they did not yet know what the restriction parameters were or what was expected of them. He also said that there was a conference call scheduled with the Attorney General and the chiefs of police to go over the parameters so that they would all get their questions answered and that they would all here the same message.
  16. A guy down the street from us has dinner delivered daily but he doesn't have money to maintain his house. His front porch railing is rusted and broken in a few places. Dangling eaves trough in one corner, paint peeling on his garage and garage door. He doesn't bother to cut the grass before it's about a foot long yet he also has a Mustang he bought new, only drives nice days in the summer and keeps covered in the garage.
  17. I hope she got a refund on the $750 curling club fee.... just kidding. Club fees are comparable to a permit and insurance for the sled... - mustang floater suit - don't ask - collection of gloves that weren't warm enough - don't ask - gas on a good snow year - don't ask - motel rooms on a good snow year - don't ask - hybrid trailer and truck to tow it - don't ask (actually I'd still have the truck regardless) Like was already said - you want to play you have to pay. If $190 for the season is a real tough to come up with expense... perhaps this isn't the sport for you. Perhaps it still is though.
  18. My back has been worse than usual recently... If I get out on the trails and find out my back is too sore... I want a refund....
  19. The last year or two with the horse being boarded out, farrier, vet for shots etc. and miscellaneous feed supplements our average was just under $800 a month for the horse. She still has her horse trailer and is finally agreeing to sell it. She doesn't want to part with her saddles yet and her tack box is chock full of stuff in the garage. If I bring anything new home for boating, fishing or snowmobiling.... well.... that's different.
  20. Then it must be true that OFSC gave refunds. lol.
  21. For boating they have some very good phrases but I haven't seen anything comparable for snowmobiling... B-ring O-ut A-nother T-housand. Boat is a hole in the water into which you throw money. I used to tell my wife things like that. One year I was showing my friend my new rod & reel that I told my wife was $100... he asked in front of her... so what did that set you back?... about $750 - $800 Wow... three and I thought I had it bad when my wife had her horse... we paid the board, blacksmith etc. whether she rode or not. I don't even want to think about the total cost of ownership over the 24 years.
  22. I remember the year of the No Snow Guarantee. As stated Barrie was the monitoring point. No payout then and I have never heard of anyone ever getting a refund due to no snow or any other reason.... do you get a refund on your vehicle license plate if you don't drive your car. There are lots of people who have been able to get out for a little bit of a ride. Nobody can predict mother nature snowfall accurately well in advance. Now having said that... if someone posts on the internet the OFSC gave refunds in the past then it must be true. After all it's on the internet.
  23. Same here... I've gotten more substantial sale flyers dropped at my door.
