Answer to original question is NO although cost of some materials have come down they have not come down to pre covid pricing. As someone stated, its not materials driving costs its labour and lack of labour.Housing pricing will not be where they were but they will not drop as much as we think, it will stabilize and start increasing slowly again due to lack of inventory at least in the GTA.Our fearless leader has opened up the floodgates with immigrants coming into Canada.(Buying Votes) .Unfortunately our infrastructure is not ready for this and not enough housing to accommodate.Lack of inventory will drive cost up again.I am in the automotive industry tier 2 supplier been running 3 shifts non stop until end of October,it came to a screeching halt in November.You can see dealer lots filling up again.If you are in the market for a new vehicle I would wait it out until 3rd or 4th quarter 2023.With that said our interest rate will still be on the rise, with the US .50 hike this week we will just follow behind so be prepared for another hike Jan 25th.Talk is that interest rates will continue to rise in 2023.As an automotive manufacture we are 1st to get hit,looking at our upcoming releases and forecast the volume is down signifetly.Are we heading into a recession all the signs are there that we are.I did make the decision to get out of sledding sold everything, could not justify cost anymore mainly due to the short season and kids growing up and not having time to ride. Glad to see some common sense is allowing trails to open up in our area once again. Thank you to all our club members and volunteers for keeping trails in pristine shape and ready to go.

From the sounds of it you may be spot on. Trails in this area are in the best shape ever.

Just go ride seen many sleds go by, ticket will be useless not to mention back log in courts. It would be great to see a convoy of hundreds of sleds backed up on Seguin trail watching OPP trying to give out tickets. They will miss their coffee break lunch break and dinner break. You will not be able to stop anywhere anyhow. OFSC is completely useless try sending email, see what reply you get back, give it a try. Like I said before shut down all or shut down none go ride, enjoy yourself and stay safe.

Spoke with councilor, was one man decision, unbelievable. Don't think he really and truly understands what he has done to these small towns and businesses that rely on this sport. Sad state of affairs, sorry Bill. Hopefully they will let us lose next weekend.

Tough and unpredictable times we are in. I was wondering what are your thoughts with trails being closed in our area. I am sure you have been asked this question several hundred times. I know on my side we have not spent a single dime in Parry Sound since last March. We purchase all our provisions in the city and will continue to do so. We are sledder's been sledding in Parry Sound area since mid 80’s, we do not trailer to other areas. We basically ride out from our 2nd home. I believe there was not enough thought or research done, and to allow one person to make this decision. Was counsel and Mayor involved in making this decision? What are you and the rest of town council including our Mayor doing to protect all the businesses that will suffer because of this one man ‘s decision. It does not make any sense to me that all other districts are open and ours is closed. This is no different than what we did in the city, close one mall but leave other malls open a few kilometers away. We all know how that turned out. Does the township have any voice in this matter?

Sad that this is happening I to have a 2nd home south of Parry Sound and been sledding since mid 80's in this area. Us city folk bring a lot of financial support to townships and local businesses, unfortunately we have not been in town since last March nor spent 1 cent in the area. Not sure if any real though process was put in deciding to shut down trails in this area. We walked C trail next to our home so what's the difference if we ride with full gear, no rules stating you are not allowed to walk on them. Am I wrong. By the way SSSC club you guys have done a stellar job

It is what it is the reality is that district 10 is closed, in my opinion close all or close none and that goes for everything else. Every person and every business have taking a big crap kicking in the last several months, unfortunately it is far from over. We have several leaking water taps that is the root cause but we seem to be avoiding or not addressing, airports, certain municipalities that have 6 to 7 families living in one home, anti mask protests and the list goes on. We can protest, sign petitions, bitch and complain but the reality is that this pandemic is here and we all need to do our part to get it under control,(Easier said then done) Stay safe and hopefully we can all get through this.

If trails do close are clubs still allowed to maintain trails and run groomers?

What a shame all this beautiful fresh snow and clubs working their tails off to get trails open. Will be interesting to see if the OFSC chimes in as of Jan 13 all was clear to go.

So is this a done deal are trails closing or do we still go by OFSC interactive trail map status. Seguin is showing yellow as of today.

Great to hear no need for these after market pipes, the most friggen annoying sound.Just another nuisance to landowners that allow trails through their property.

Gone to limited today,radar run is a go for weekend Feb 1 on Horseshoe lake. Seen a few sleds myself mostly locales and volunteers doing their best to get this portion to limited. Be very careful as it is very thin and really limited if you plan to head out this weekend. Club has done their very best now mother nature needs to step up.
