  1. Glad I did not see any cops today. I do not think I was under 100 any time I was on the move and out of town.
  2. That was the cop from the village people, and that was NOT a breathalizer.
  3. .....and so it begins. In the story I read how two hours after driving they can demand a breath sample. That section needs some clarification. I think the intent is for police to have two hours to get a sample at the station after a person has been arrested, and not as described in the article. I think... The law is clear in fact.,that lawyer is blowing things out of proportions. Exception (4) No person commits an offence under subsection (3) if (a) they consumed the drug or the alcohol or both after ceasing to operate a motor vehicle or vessel, or after ceasing to operate or assist in the operation of an aircraft or railway equipment or after ceasing to have the care or control of a motor vehicle, a vessel, an aircraft or railway equipment; and (b) after ceasing the activities described in paragraph (a), they had no reasonable expectation that they would be required to provide a sample of a bodily substance.

  5. When you think about it, this stat says a lot. 150 sleds stopped, and only one non trail permit and some poor guy that forgot to renew his tag but had insurance and a permit, no drinking charges. That is damn good compliance. This kind of blows away the perception that sledders are a bunch of drunken outlaws.
  6. Keep supporting the tking away of our rights and eventually they WILL be coming for something you do care about. Perhaps they will outlaw all power sports, I mean how could you not support it, if it saves just one life.
  7. Go for the potatoes, stay for the great riding?
  8. Matters not, now blow in here and ddo not stop until I tell you to stop!.
  9. It was a 12 hour not 24, no fine or admin fee and most never had their car towed,. I got one and the cop allowed me to drive to a gas station, park it, then he took my licence for12 hours. I thought that was very fair. Now three days, mandatory impound and fees as well as reporting to your insurance for no law being broken is an abuse of power.
  10. I can see us going to zero BAC or THC in the future. The fact is, that may not be a bad thing at all. Young kids now must have zero of both from 16 until they turn 22. This was a good idea as it sets the stage for a lifetime of not having anything before you drive. As it stands, I will enjoy a beer or drink but at the same time as the punishments are now pretty severe for the warn level, this is not without risk for many to be punished with no way to defend and many are. I bet those that hve had there vehicle taken for the wrn would not have had any if there was zero tolerance.
  11. I think they have progressive limits with different actions for each. The lowest being between 2-5ng/ml of blood THC with a fine, and impaired if you have more thn 5, also 2.5 or above combined with 0,05 BAC is an impaired.
  12. They include any alcohol in the system, even if so low it has zero effect and was NOT a factor. IE: You have one glass of wine,, one hour later you are stopped at a red, a person rear ends you, they have zero BAC, you have 0.01, bingo, alcohol is a factor. Madd will even include a passenger having consumed and not the driver, as proven in their most recent propaganda ads stating a number that equated to 92% of all deaths on the highway were alcohol related.
  13. The stats put out in traffic fatalities where alcohol is a factor are out right lies. MADD is a self serving greedy entity that needs to go away.
  14. What group was it again that decided we should have an open border policy. I must have missed the public outcry over our borders not being wide open.....
  15. Yes this has Truedopes prints all over it. Liberal Fascism is the worst, Nazi's are nicer people.
  16. Today you must know what you can handle were those drafts 20 oz? If so then that is 3.5 beers, not two. I will have a shot or two during my rides, never am I concerned about being over 0.04. I can have three in an hour and blow under 0.05, I keep it down to two.
  17. Sure it does. Bad sober drivers are more dangerous than a good driver with 0.04 BAC.
  18. If a person is not legally impaired, below 0.05, then they are not breaking any law, and police will tell them to have a nice day as they ride off. So, please explain how the legal definition of impaired does not matter and is in your words, irrelevant? I can help, it is not, as a matter of fact it is all that matters.
  19. Next they will deem it to be acceptable to enter your home without warrant to insure you are doing nothing illegal. They will use the fact that they now allow people to cultivate four marijuana plants, some people might have five or more and police will need to enter homes just to make sure. Better safe than sorry, just think of the crimes we could prevent, and if you are doing nothing wrong, this type of intrusion should not concern you in the least.
  20. Hoping I get to have some of those negative experience, but as of right now looking at the weather I may not. BTW, I never said every time you ride, I said every time a cop sees you on the trail, you will be stopped and you will be told to blow, refuse and you will be arrested and charged.
  21. The problem is, another step towards a full on police state. Simply because an issue such as this will not end in criminal charges for you, it still does effect you. You will have your right violated to an even greater degree and you will be held up longer every time you see a cop on the trails. I do not ride impaired and have s=zero concern about getting in trouble due to this, but that does not make it ok.
  22. The new normal. Every time a cop sees you on a sled they stop you. This is a hassle and at times they cause line ups of sleds to smell you and check for paperwork. Well now you can expect a longer line and a bigger hassle, as they start to demand a breath sample from all, even if they have zero reason to suspect you have consumed any alcohol. This is ludicrous. Sure if they smell it, check to insure the person is under the limit, but to be able to demand this with zero reason other than "we can", is not only a breach of our rights, but a giant waste of peoples time. More and more people will be getting out of this expensive hobby if they are continually treated like criminals based solely on the fact they ride a sled.
  23. not if you only have a couple
  24. It had electric start.
