  1. Sure. We don't ride hard and we don't mind slowing our pace either. My wife keeps up and she rides like girl....LOL I will post here once we make a final decision. Its either Kirkland Lake or Kapuscasing. Leaning towards Kirkland Lake.
  2. My buddy and I are looking at going to Kirkland Lake from Wednesday to Sunday. Just waiting for my buddy to clear his schedule. Heard from some people who were there on the weekend and said it was 9/10 condition.
  3. Parked in beautiful downtown Durham around 230pm and took the trail west then turned north over the top of Durham to the railbed, south to the B111 and back to the trailer for 120 km afternoon. Road run sections were mostly solid and there was a bit of snow to run on at the sides which was surprising. Trails on the west side and up to the railbed were groomed last night. So was the railbed but it was getting hard to tell, lots of traffic. Klondyke had groomed their section of the B111 and it was good but no grooming on the Durham side and it was completely bombed out garbage. Only pictures of the good stuff…….lol The bad was bad. Some of the sections should be closed but I’m sure tomorrow will do them all in.
  4. I had an appointment with a customer this morning. I couldn’t get way until the afternoon. The couple buddies I called were busy so I went alone. Rode from Orangeville up the railbed to Markdale. Did a side loop on the Durham side trails and then back down the railbed. I followed a guy on an old F Cat coming back and I wish I’d stopped to chat when he pulled off the trail. We ran the same pace and blew by the same ignorant groups who refused to let us by. Everything south of Shelburne should be closed. Good snow once you get above Dundalk. i rode the Mach Z. Are you proud of me Stoney?
  5. What about Tricked Toys? https://www.tricked-toys.com/store_hitch.php I bought one of these in the fall and they were in stock.
  6. My buddy bought a left over '23 900R Adrenaline for $18k plus the crap, I think he was quoted $2k more for a '24. A cheap Sidewinder is $24k+ and a ThunderCat is $28k. Throw $2k at the Doo and it will run with the Cat. Throw $800 at the Cat and the Doo is left behind. The complaint about the Doo is that it runs out of gas at 70 mph while the Cat keeps on pulling. Remember that I am riding the Suzuki Turbo Cat with a trail tune, (225HP cost me $400). At 50 mph, you grab more throttle and it tries to pull the bars from your hands past 100 mph. The Doo is good down low but that top end rush is just not the same.
  7. Been thinking about it. Gonna talk to Ledger for some details but I know he likes them. One of the Sledaddicz guys had Ledger put the kit on his new 900R. They did an install video and he did a riding review from Gaspe. I don't need one but.......lol The throttle response is definitely lacking on these sleds compared to my Cat. Especially when you're at speed.

Rode out of Bird Creek, up to Whitney for lunch, back through Lake St Peter. Decent base with 6"+ of fresh on top. Good for a ride. Passed the groomer on B106E near Maynooth on the way back to the truck.

  11. Yep, lots of left overs the next year. I bought Di a 2007 F6. If I remember right I paid $7000 for it. And we were riding in Dec.
  12. My '07 Switchback had the 600 EFI. It was great until year 3 and the 2 injectors in the bottom end crapped out. I was without the sled for all of February but I did get warranty as the sled came with a 3 year standard (another Fusion inspired buying incentive no doubt). I sold it in 2010 with 11000 kms on it for $4700. 2007 was the first year for the Polaris 700 which was just the bored out 600 block. I don't remember those being as reliable as the 600's.
  13. The 600's, especially the carb version, were good running dependable motors. Polaris was slashing prices to win back buyers because the Fusion name had tainted everything. They also had those 755's or what ever they were. And the '05 and '06 900's were different designs. The '07 IQ sleds were nothing more than the Fusion chassis with the mountain hood. I'm sure Polaris would like to remove 2005-2009 from most sled buyer's memories.
  14. I was debating between the Fusion 900 and the Skidoo 1000. I built a pool for the Polaris dealer that summer so that sealed the deal. I potentially would have lost either way. I traded it in on an '07 Switchback 600 EFI after 2 seasons. I paid $11400 for the 900, They gave me $5500 trade in against $11000 for the 600. The dealer sold it through auction for $3500. The crank seal was out of it behind the primary and the motor mounts were broke again. The reflectors in the headlights were rattling around in the lens, the adjustable steering post was sloppy and the tail light didn't work. What a POS.....lol All of us got screwed on that sled. I remember they still had 900's sitting in the crates in 2008 and they were selling them for $3999.
  15. The 600's didn't have motor issues like the 900's. They were decent. There were still quality issues with all the Fusions. Every time you had your Fusion in to the dealer and they did a recall repair, the dealer would add a sticker to the airbox so others would know what had been done. My 900 had 13 stickers after 2 years......😁 I believe I took it back to the dealer 7-8 times during those 2 years and I had to tow it off the trail twice. The dealers weren't a lot of help because these things were all over their service bays with very few answers from Polaris. Mechanics taking apart sleds they'd never seen before. One of the recalls was to put a zip tie on the main wiring harness connector because in one of the previous recalls the mechanics had to disconnect and reconnect that plug but the problem was the little keeper latch that held the 2 halves together would break and then the plugs would come apart later. That was how I ended up with a sled that shut off and would not restart on the Sequin. I got towed into Sprucedale on a strap. A local with a trailer took my sled and myself back to Oxtongue Lake where I was staying and helped me load it on my trailer. Its funny now but it was not so much then.😁
  16. I was thinking the same. I got offered a Storm for cheap back in '99. I was told it was "all sorted out".

I saw 3 bikes on the road this afternoon. There will be more out tomorrow. I may bring my old truck home so I can get some work done on it. Day time highs above zero here until Tuesday and no snow. More pictures on Facebook from Cochrane today. Lots of mud and brown snow. People are asking how the trails are even open. Crazy winter.

Snow and cold returns to Cochrane at the end of the week. But its going to take a beating up there for the next 5 days. The pics Polar Bear Riders have been posting look grim already.

Cochrane weather showing plus temps all week with some rain. WTF?
  21. There are no rules on a lake as I understand it, OFSC stakes or not. A stake line is not a trail and is not maintained as a trail.

Son text me yesterday. It was 15 degrees in Calgary. 2 weeks ago it was -40. Crazy. Ordered some new sled parts today and the wife is leaving town for a week. That's almost as good as sledding......🤩
  23. With no snow on the ground, maybe I should drag my old sleds out and see if they still run. Thanks for posting.
