  1. Agreed. The access door my Triton is driver's side - open the side door, feed the hose, fill up 2 sleds that way. No need for a fuel door under those circumstances. Interestingly, one gas station wouldn't allow me to fill up - 3 doors open (front ramp, back ramp and side door). Nope. 'Regulations'. I'd be 'p*ssed' if I had a fuel door, and this type of regulation is enforced in the future. (I didn't drive the sleds out to fill, as suggested. Fueled them after I got to destination. I'd love input on what the regulations are on this. I've seen sleds filled, jerry cans filled...all in the 'warmth' of the trailer. Are we risking extreme heat, so to speak?)
  2. Sticking to Ontario for seasonal passes. Fingers crossed.
  3. In all seriousness, if you're involved with a local club, consider ' bathroom facilities '. It was an issue raised at club meetings over the years - there were studies, emails - put more facilities on the trails for female sledders.
  4. Way to go. Happy trails. We've been reluctant to pull the trigger on hotel bookings. Your update (and others) somehow adds 'normalcy' to 2021.
  5. PLC, The link's great. But it seems U.S. based. Is there a way to insert Ontario locaitons? Is there an Ontario snow map? I have radar, etc. for areas we sled. Wondering if there's a snow depth map. Thanks.
  6. Thanks, AC+YA. Great explanation and info., moving forward.
  7. The basic version is responsive ( faster to load and react to inputs than last year) but lacks detail. I couldn't find any towns out east (D1), as an example. I paid the 3.99 plus tax and the detail popped up. I jumped ahead, bought it, but here's a quick comparison: Basic - little underlying detail. Pro- detail. Basic- gave option of downloading area ' tiles' for non cellular use ( I didn't click....to verify). Pro- download area tiles. Basic- 2 finger swipe to change map orientation ( to see the trail as you're facing it) Pro- same ----- If anyone spends more time in basic, advise. The features I'm most interested in, on the paid version: 1. "Follow me" ... pinpoint where I am like a typical gps ( Rider location on gos, share and group rides); 2. Trip planning; 3. Measure distance. Looking for corrections to last year's issues ( TOP trail logos ( e.g.) blocking out town or road names ); other issues identified by revrnd and irrev. ( and others). It has a way better feel to it than last year ( android user ).
  8. Welcome to the forum. Thanks for volunteering with MLSTA.

Zoom zoom. Not just a Mazda ad. Let it snow, let it snow.
  10. Thanks, T-D. Also sense the slower season (weather) start this year. Hope things improve up there.

It's the Toyota Tacomas, narrow trucks, chewing up trails here. Six Mile Lake. Brutal. They have tow straps affixed to trees, in case they're stuck. ATV winch cinches into the tree harness to get them out of the morass they create at bottom of the hill. Not an organized ATV trail or club. Just dic*heads ( copyright, STG, Rodney ) playing in the mud. Destroying snowmobile trails.
  12. Never trust an artist using Arctic cat green. BC Ferries mandatory mask sign, below.
  13. My father used to work on Ice Lake in the 1950s . New to Canada ( Ukraine ) - up north, you go, to work. His job was to cut ice blocks from a lake in Hornepayne, transport to the local railway station to ' chill' perishables on trains. Train stopped, ice blocks loaded. When I told him I was heading up there by snowmobile, he told me the stories. Loved the community. Wanted to stay. But drawn to southern Ontario. Anyhow, fast forward to early 2000s, sledding with my son, overnight at the hotel ( retail complex ). I ask some older locals where they would have cut ice for the trains pre-refrigeration. They smile, point out the window and say "from ICE Lake, I'd imagine". They literally hauled ice from that lake
  14. ...says the chap from Sudbury, where 100 foot bridges are the norm. Found this on YouTube...there was discussion about it last year.
  15. District 1 has, on occasion, had early snowfall - as Slomo mentioned, with loop links. Loops are basically circle trips. Park, complete loop, go home or do another loop the next day. Tons of groomers in District 1, on my bucket list for early season riding. Relatively close to Cobourg (great town btw, stop there twice a year by boat on Toronto > Trent Severn Waterway > Georgian Bay travels). Really enjoy Cobourg's downtown, walking ..sightseeing, history. Nice vibe. City marina is great as well.
  16. He'd lay breadcrumbs if you got lost behind, LOL. ( Nice guy - he actually would. They'd be white, you might miss them...but he would )
  17. Thanks for the update, T-D. Looked online for Manitouwadge location and this was on the Google maps home page. Great to see that they embrace snowmobiling. It'll be a blast up there. Thanks for posting. Thanks to all that worked on this trail system.
  18. X2 Select a trail. Go. Love the birch trees, scenery. Agree that trails to the hotels are brutal, but avoid end of day moguls by trailering back to hotel. Next day, another trail from STP.
  19. String Farmer in a helicopter. What could go wrong?
  20. I think he's a proponent of how 'light' Polaris snowmobiles are. No chance a Corolla can carry a Yamaha
