  1. I thought I would post this here for anyone that might be interested! Here is a prime sledding and ATV accommodation that already has rental income. Right in the heart of Kearney! Direct access to Fetterley’s gas station and right on the OFSC and Park to Park trail system too. Walking distance to LCBO, Restaurants and General Store. A great opportunity to own this, or use yourself or share with friends?….and rent out the rest? Algonquin Park Office already leases one of the commercial spaces below in the main building…so already monthly income from that. Please contact the owners of Pit Stop 518 directly for more information. I am only sharing what I think is a great opportunity. Accommodations in the Town of Kearney for Sledding and ATV’ing are slim, so, this could be a great opportunity for someone. Info in the link to contact for more information https://www.facebook.com/groups/620755158435378/permalink/1743188816192001/?
  2. Just saw this on their Facebook Page. Truly a great loss for this loop 😢
  3. YELLOW SNOW! (**note** do NOT eat the yellow snow) 😆
  4. Just wondering..............why has the OFSC not sent a "loner" groomer to you in the interim? I thought that it was their responsibility to do this?
  5. So sad condolences to Family and Friends. Ride safe everyone https://www.baytoday.ca/local-news/man-dies-after-accident-on-area-snowmobile-trail-5008336?fbclid=IwAR2NrlfjiNCniPS2ufcf6PRl1TdBeRDbuModaszHhzHS2nOeoFx_evCDEbg
  6. unfortunately. It was a fatality. Condolences to the family. 😢
  7. I also ride with one as I believe it is also a safety issue - however, I think if I had a stuck throttle I would instinctively go for the kill switch - just my own personal thing I guess.
  8. Yes I figured with more trails opening that it would be one of the loops people would want you do as it is one of my favourites as well. Hope they get it off the trail and fixed up soon so they can get that trail open it sure has been a challenging year…but they are doing the best they can and working their butts off to make it happen.
  9. The throttle issue is certainly a safety issue , but I would be more inclined to use my Kill Switch than pull the tether if my throttle was stuck…but that’s just me maybe. With the Doos it is not an insurance issue and seems like more sleds being stolen other than 22’s. In fact , I haven’t seen one post yet about a 22 stolen. BRP has given post locks to the dealers for the customers that purchased 22’s without DESS. Picked mine up and they work great. So at least they have been quick to act and offer a solution at no charge.
  10. I am beginning to think you are obsessed with tethers
  11. I have both iPod and iPhone with iTunes. So yes, I was wondering about charging the speakers as well. Hmmmm. Maybe I will just keep signing to myself. lol
  12. Just saw this post from Highland Tovers. Posted about an hour ago. Please avoid. Please avoid trail 95 at the moment we are experiencing technical difficulties helps on the way !! Cheers
  13. Thanks Ski. Yes. That is what I am looking for. Mr Giddy is not one for the comms thing, although I can see the usefulness. I usually lead and am always waiting for him LOL. But he is never too far behind, but I am looking for the nostalgic tunes! I will look into Sena! Cheers!
  14. LOL...I ride 2 stroke. I have never listened to music while riding before - thought it was more for the youngsters actually...LOL. Now as I am getting longer in the tooth I thought - what they heck! Maybe I could listen to some tunes too!
  15. Hey all Looking for recommendations for bluetooth speakers for an Oxygen helmet. What are you using? Thanks! 😎
  16. Not that I am aware of - mostly snow conditions particularly in the Muskoka region with the Canadian Shield to deal with - lots of rocks and they have little snow compared to areas further south. Even further south where there is more farm fields to go through is a challenge. We rode out on Tuesday through some of those trails that are now listed as limited and they are mostly rough....still need more snow down there as well. Today we are getting more snow - so I would expect to see more openings soon. It has been a tough year so far
  17. Hopefully this "Snow Squall Watch" we are under will come through with some decent snow. The trails need another good dumping and will be in much better shape! Keeping fingers crossed and doing the snow dance!
  18. Saw this posted and thought I would share: Help us identify two good samaritans. Do you know who stopped to help an injured rider of a red Polaris snowmobile on OFSC trail #D123 between Burks Falls and Katrine Ontario? Sun Jan 23 4-5pm. If so please call #AlmaguinHighlandsOPP at 705-382-2015 https://www.facebook.com/OPPHSD/videos/1068886760323742/
  19. I shared this post yesterday from Muskoka Snowtrails on a couple of FB sledding groups. For the most part, people “get it” and are onside - however - there were a few “laughing” emojis ….tell me what is so funny about this post? I totally understand your position and thank you for all of your hard work for so many years , along with your permission to use your land. This is a sad situation caused by a small percentage of sledders. Unfortunately, that small percentage make it impossible for so many. I really wish we could bring back the Trail Wardens. More policing on the trails is needed if we are ever going to get past this. here is the post from yesterday - you are not alone 😒 Today was one of those days. Both Steve Elliot (President) and myself Steve Walter (VP) spent the day staking lakes and installing signage. The day started out great and then quickly went for a crap. To 99% of our ridership that follow the rules, thank you for support. To the 1% out there that believe the rules don't apply to you, we are done. Without our board of directors, this club doesn't exist....your trail system doesn't exist...your landowners don't exist. We had one board member resign this past week because it has become a lost cause and they had enough. If the rest of us leave the board, snowmobiling in Muskoka Lakes will cease to exist. If you have a modified exhaust/can on your sled, go ride Crown land. If you see a hydro line, it is private land in this area, not Crown...anywhere. To get to the point, today a land owner is at the end of their rope. We are very close to our entire trail system from Glen Orchard to Cranberry Marsh closing because some entitled POS' think the rules don't apply to them. If we lose this section of trail we have zero alternative's and our club could ultimately fold. If anyone has any information as to those individuals riding off trail on the hydro lines West of Glen Orchard, please reach out by private message or contact the OPP non emergency line. To those riding the closed trail tonight in Glen Orchard with your modified exhaust and then ripping down Butterfly Rd, the residents are done and it will not be tolerated again this year. We are sorry it has come to this, but organized snowmobiling is hanging on by a thread in this area. All we can ask is our ridership to help us by calling out the offenders and contacting the OPP.
