  1. Skied there on Friday with the family, conditions were great, good temps and fresh snow all day. We didn’t see any brown patches, bonus day out for us, nice to have one more “winter” day. My little guy took to skiing well this season, no issues making it down the bunny hill without falling. He’ll be 3 in June. My wife’s in for some competition next season.

  2. How is this for a deal? Not sure if this is some type of April Fools joke? https://sudburyyamaha.ca/en/Snowmobile/adid/31183921/2024-Yamaha-SRViper-L-TX-GT-Sudbury-ON/ Waiting for Farmer to say that he might offer them $8K and see if they take it. LOL.

  4. Well my buddy wanted to ride his rebuilt Boost so last minute we decided to head to Poplar Point Camp by Elk lake and try place out. Great cabins. And super owners. We went out with owner for a ride Friday afternoon and ran out of snow to north East. So we turned around and rode South into the higher elevations. Fun ride on logging roads. Yes some thinner spots. Yes I hit some rocks. Today my buddy and I were out for a few hour run. And heading out again after lunch. I know it’s not for everyone but I already own the sled and extra carbides. Plus spare skis so WTF.

  5. I always look at my sled and say "Could I sell this to a friend with a clear conscience?" If the answer is "No' then I trade it in.....lol

  6. My chum had a Jeep pick-up in high skewl. Straight 6 with Desert Dogs. Those tires are so loud, that he lost his muffler on the way to skewl one day, and didn't know it 'till he got there. Found it on the way home. .

  8. It really is a win win, if it’s a fair offer…..with less hassles and headaches, if that is worth it to you to have less hassles in life…. you save the decreased amount offered in taxes you save on new vehicle that you wouldn’t see on private sale. dealer makes that money as profit when they sell based on market value that keeps the wheel greased. rinse and repeat….

  11. Is that Jens old sled? I am not in a huge panic but I am definitely keeping my eyes open for a nice 600X or something comparable for $10K. All my buddies are getting rid of their sleds and I would have ridden more this winter if my dad would have come with me. My mom wont let him buy another sled but he is always up for rip somewhere.

  12. I keep the tax savings. My dealer charges me $200 per sled to run them through and the buyer pays $149 licensing fee plus his taxes

  14. I sold an 8 foot box popup last summer that weighed in at just over 1000 dry. A guy working in BC sent his father from elliot lake to owen sound for pick it up. From the time I posted it till he got here I had well over 100 replies. It was insane. I listed one of my boats yesterday and it was sold in ten minutes by a fella from parry sound. Didnt want a water test, didnt want to see it run on muffs. Just pulled the cover off threw it in the truck and left. I guess folks are willing to travel for a good deal. I dont like sitting on things I'm selling, just want em gone.

  23. The dealers can't afford to take a non stop bath - esp. when the manu's force units down their throats. The manu's need to step in and assist or there will be NO dealer network to peddle their stuff anymore. Banks will not finance these dealers forever either. The bubble is about to burst. Affordability along with a horrible winter is likely what the sport needed to be honest

  24. Apparently - that is a sign of it having had a wrap on it. They strip all the OEM decals off and put on ... those ... things .... I really don't git it .... So then, when they go to sell, they either have to find someone that thinks that wrap is kewl or they need to take it off and sell with no decals, or fetch new ones again. Can't say how many times I see a sled for sale. 1 yr old Laundry list of aftermarket shtuff they bolted onto it Don't forget the really kewl wrap! 400 miles $5000 in aftermarket BS and they got 400 miles on it... I jist don't git it.... .

  28. I've had a Royal Distributing one for years now. No problems lifting any of the sleds I've owned. Renegade 1200, Yamaha Vector, Cat Turbo, Mach Z900 R. My '79 SRX has been sitting on it during the summer for 2 years just to make more storage space in my shed. I have an adapter on it so I can use a 1/4" Impact to raise and lower.

  29. Best tire I found for pickups. I ran them all on a fleet of 20 vehicles and they were everyones favourite and always the longest lasting. Granted that was 5 years ago now, so maybe there is something better, but I just put a new set on my personal truck and am still very happy with them.

  30. I usually trade at dealer as it saves on taxes, hassle free and you dont have to worry about buyer not switching out of your name. Last time though, I had a Cat and Doo dealer told me straight up they did not want to take on trade, it had 16Km on it. Put it on FB market place and priced right, I was glad to sell and buyer was happy with price, all worked out in the end.

  32. That is what all the Quebec guys do. The dealers call it "sale by accommodation"

  33. Yes, if you have a good trade and a good dealer who can give you fair dollar because they are able to move it - it usually makes sense for me to trade. I have never lost anything by trading - but have also done okay by selling private. I take it one unit at a time and see where things are at and how my own time is looking, do the math, and make the decision.

  34. People get caught up in the what it is worth to me vs. what it is worth to others/market can bear......the latter of the two will usually see success, the first, not so much...... I was just talking to a friend who is selling a used vehicle, they are stuck on 27K mark for it, dealer offered 23K when they bought their new one......stupid thing is they would have saved almost 3K in taxes on the trade in......lol.

  40. I wonder if they would take my 02 Skidoo 600 Gt w 25000 km on a trade? It should be worth about $2000. If thats not April fools, somebody is getting serious about moving inventory.

  42. Look at Arctic Cat starting in 2018. They had a surplus of new non-currents up to 4 years old. They put up huge rebates and sold them all. I purchased a 2016 AC Lynx for my wife in 2019. $8600 retail and I paid $4500 BRAND NEW. Then sold it during covid for $7500..lol. The dealers will get support from the manufactures or they'll lose the dealers. Stay tuned but a new sled for $4k off list is coming (again).

  43. My buddy just bought a really nice 22 Renegade 850 XRS with 4000kms for $10500 privately. I saw the sled - its really nice. I wish I bought it.

  44. The bunny hill does make for a long day, I tried to get a few runs in here and there throughout day to split it up. It is surprising how well the little ones do, the lack of fear, or feeling of pain definitely helps. Some of the most fun he had was falling and being covered in snow, and laughing his butt off.

  48. I fill the tank in the spring, add seafoam or stabilizer. Suck the tank empty in the fall, and add fresh fuel. Was told in college, a full tank condensates on the outside, while an empty tank will condensate on the inside.
