  4. I realize it may not be conveniently local for everyone in the South, but if you're in the Muskoka area already, have a trailer and are itching to ride, I'd recommend the 1.5h drive to where the A101D and D meet in Powassan and start from there. Trails were good to excellent in that area on Saturday. Went east to Mattawa on A, then A112A west toward North Bay then A back down to A101D through Bonfield. 240km of mostly great conditions! Sorry, no pictures unfortunately. Not much traffic compared to what people were seeing in Whitney / Bancroft / etc. area.

  5. In Powassan, I parked with several others on the side of Pioneer Road at the corner of Kells Road and Pioneer Road where the A101D meets D. Quiet road so no issues. I can imagine that Kearney area now open will be super busy this weekend!

  6. March break head to Cochrane or week after if things stay open. Should be safe to go then 😎. I want to go. No way I am going to take zero miles in a season 😆

  8. Mount an air tag some where on can. Then if some picks it up you get a notification right away. Then worked good on my trip to Asia. No cell or wifi won’t help you but most cases you have one at least. Ever falls off while riding you be able to back track too. I won’t do a sled trip without them in my bags now. 😎

  11. After reading your original post this morning, I looked at the ITG and the whole section was still red. Since lunch time, the section west of Hwy.11 has gone to yellow. You can get around the red section if you don't mind running roads. When you leave Matheson, stay on Monahan Road until you get to Taylor 5 Concession and turn left onto it. Stay on Taylor 5 Concession and about 3 km. west of highway 11 it becomes the A trail.

  13. My buddy and I did 155Km yesterday East of Ottawa, and north of the A trail outbound and A trail (rail bed return). Trails are Yellow, but closer we got to Hawksbury, snow was less. A trail - old rail bed, had almost no snow in wide open areas, sheltered areas was bumpy but snow covered. Tried the new FXR coat and gloves. Burned off the storage gas. Temp was =1c, with water droplets freezing to the front of the sled and visor. Assisted a Cat guy who was about to abandon his sled for later recovery. He had a warning light. Had him restart the sled, no warning light, short test drive was good, suggested may have just been some bad gas, as we saw he was fueling at a station when we passed him, earlier.

  14. Got back yesterday from a few days up in the Northern Corridor, conditions were surprisingly good considering the weather struggles they've also been having. https://www.facebook.com/therealnutter/posts/pfbid0TW15xYXi4nW94UncAg4sbX17V1qhQSusEwyXZwh2cxX8zP8TrCfNaxsDbLaX75Zcl

  16. Hard to think sledding when the grass is green. The sleds are ready, although they have been sitting for 3 months now. Permits are still on my desk. I’m not interested in travelling more than 2 hours to ride so I still have time.

  17. Hitting the forest today, conditions are as stated, fair to good. Wasn’t fully booked today but tomorrow it is. Was considering railbed at fenelon falls, but wasn’t sure how it’d be with freezing rain vs snow that fell last couple of days.
