This is what sticks in my craw, we the permit buyers pay for that trail to exist and be maintained throughout the season. These jerkoff clowns are gouging the hands that feed them to the point it's absolutely sickening.
Agreed on the east side being way nicer. We generally do the full loop and then head south towards Timmins (when the C trail is open) and then over to Cochrane. That makes for a full day and a nice ride.
You can ride east as well. Its a nice daytrip from Val D or out to Lac Faillon for lunch via Louvicourt and the club trail that runs east off 386 south of Louvicourt . After lunch, west to Senneterre then decide which way back to Val D Or.
I bought a new 24' drive in/out last year and used caliber products. Sure it can get a bit spendy but they come with SS hardware, the hex bit you need, and installation is a breeze (cordless drill). In addition, they have a lifetime warranty and look better than the pictures above ;-D....
PM me if you'd like to discuss further.
Bed liners work great too with grooves in them. Find them for free from a shop that does lots of spray linings. Can cut them up and use as ski guides. Very durable too.
they're not? 6 bux a litre last year... there is a maintained road going to them. it isnt like they are like halfway haven, and they have to maintain the road to base camp. if they were not making money, they wouldnt be open, and wouldnt be doing it. just my .02 Ski
Yeah, I'm no scientist, but I know what my eyes have seen in my almost 50 years and there is zero doubt winters are not like they used to be - call it whatever you want - but I am convinced something has changed.
