  3. I live in Canada work in the USA. I am in the US for 3 to 4 weeks at a time before returning to Canada for a rotation. I just stop at my local Walgreens pharmacy get the NAAT test and within an hour I have my results. Free of charge. Take the results with me either print it out or electronically on my phone along with the filled out ArriveCAN app and zero issues.

  4. Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste Marie Michigan provides Covid testing via appointment Monday through Friday 8am to 4pm. this is right at the border, testing costs 70.00 per test, per person, is allowed by Canadian Border Patrol/Services for International crossing. results are approx 20 minutes. must have prior arranged appointment for this service. understand you can test locally to home but, tests are usually 150 per or more. they will tell you they are "free" or your "insurance pays" but, months later your will get a "service fee bill" for additional costs from the lab, again... approx 150. been there done that, 3 times already. also note, when testing at home, if your provider doesnt process their own testing, you may not get the results back, prior to your 72 hour window, (need proof of a negative test within 72 hours of your crossing over). dont push the time limit, if you are a minute over... you start the process over, at your cost. also understand, most insurance will not pay for "travel related testing" . @AC+YA also has a more southern testing area near the michigan, indiana, ohio, border area on I69. I am sure he will chime in, with an update for us. your results may vary, good luck, Ski

  5. Really happy for you. I'm still waiting on word on mine, which has a December month delivery, so means nothing. I was beginning to think I would have to invite you to join OX and Me in the POOG club, with some of the posts you were making about if your sled was late. (POOG=Pissed Off Old Guys).(All in fun). Maybe I'll see you this winter on my annual Pembroke to Spectacle Lake day trip. Cheers

  6. My '22 Renegade X 900R arrived at my dealer this afternoon, won't know until Monday if its missing anything...but my dealer stated unequivocally that its going home later next week. He did say they are receiving missing components daily, as well as chunks of their accessories order, and not to worry. If it does come home next week, I will have enough time to install the accessories. Surprisingly, my 1+1 seat kit along with the heated grips and passenger visor plug all arrived today by Purolator! The dealer has a long list of sled buyers waiting on one, and the dealer had been told they are on backorder until February, but for some odd reason mine came in.

  7. there is more to this story, it isnt the full story. you can enter all your info several days before you cross, unlike what she said "you cant enter it ahead of time". you enter your info, and hold it in queue, then when you fully know, you complete the sending. they want you to put it in as early as possible. also, what probably happened was, they were one of those randomly selected for a test when they arrive in Canada, and you are quarantined until your negative results come back, yes, that is a pain, from what I hear. another scenario is, they were not fully vaxed and went to the states, and came back, and were found to not to be in compliance thus the "two week quarantine". they dont just hand out random 2 week quarantines, something happened, and it isnt being fully represented here. with reading the article again, here is what I noticed: from the article: Suzanne Beckerton and her partner crossed the border in Sault Ste. Marie on Nov. 4 after uploading all of their documents to the ArriveCan app. my point: The U.S. started on Nov. 8 to allow fully vaccinated foreign nationals to cross the land borders from Canada and Mexico for nonessential purposes. if the article is true, they went across via land before it was allowable, somehow were let into the USA, and upon return, "earned" their 2 week quarantine. it appears what they are dealing with was, they went across to the usa before the border was fully open, and upon returning from a foreign country (USA) they were placed in quarantine. which was the status quo at the time. they brought this on themselves, and are looking for sympathy, if this truly is accurate. this is a reminder, in all reported stories, due your diligence by reading, and research before accepting it as fully true. 8. Honestly I haven’t used it when fully expanded yet only used the bag at its smallest size/unexpanded, specs say it’s 8-22L. At it’s smallest size it still has a fair amount of room, I can easily fit a spare belt, extra gloves, extra set of titan heated googles which are in a 509 google hard case which is the size of a Kleenex box, rubber hammer, tool pouch, snacks, drinks and there’s still room to spare. Original I was gonna go the linq route as it’s a tested and proven product but I wanted the fuel/bag combo and for me the stackable doo fuel caddy is a bit big for me. I’ve pushed my sled to where I’ve ran out of gas just a few feet from the pumps at 220km so I figured with the 6L roto pac I can get another 30-35 km range, with the fuel and bag installed it keeps the weight on the tunnel within reason. If you like I can give you the exact measurements over the weekend ?

  10. I used the kimpex system all last year without problems but 90% of the time I was just using the bag, last trip of the year I had both on and worked out good. One thing though the instructions are wrong on the hole spacing, luckily I mounted mine on a piece of plywood wood to make sure how it all went together and sure enough the whole spacing is to wide which will cause the bad or fuel can to wiggle a bit.

  14. I typically wear a 2Xl jacket and have a large tekvest. I use a shell jacket and wear it between my bibs/midlayers and my jacket. I have the crossover one, just because it fit me better. It's 2" taller than most of the other tek vests but I'll torso. It has never bothered me wearing it, and I forget to put it on, I soon notice. I don't know how effective they are - hope to not find out - but in my mind it's a no-brainer to wear since I have young kids. The crossover vest doesn't have a zipper on it, and I'll admit I feel like an idiot when I'm pulling it off over my head in a restaurant. People ask about it a lot - you know the typical beer drinking crowd - what are you out there sno-crossing? Etc. If the sizing worked better I think I'd prefer one with a zipper that comes off like a jacket.

  15. This project is underway but our snowmobile club still needs your support. If you can spare a few dollars it would certainly go a long way. I would like to thank those generous supporters that have committed so far and also a huge thank you to The Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs - OFSC for the additional funds committed to this project. If you are a friend to organised snowmobiling could I ask you to share the link provided, every share gets to more people. We have adjusted the fundraising goal to reflect our current state.. https://gofund.me/bb5a8dba Thanks for your support.. Paul

  16. The rest area / welcome center on northbound I-69 approximately 5 miles north of the Indiana/Michigan border has been giving Covid tests from 10 am - 4 pm daily. This was 7 days a week. They have quick tests (my friend said it was under 4 minutes) and PCR tests which they sent to his phone about 20 hours later. He said they took no money, but if you give them insurance info there may be a bill in the future? So far he has seen nothing. He thought some were just indicating that they had no insurance and still received the testing.

  17. Thanks for posting this Dan. That occurence was prior to December 7th when once again the rules changed for Canadians coming back to Canada. The arrivecan app can be a challenge for some and if you don't have it completed CORRECTLY before you get to the border you will have issues. There is so much detailed information on travel requirements on line it's ridiculous. The Canadian government site seem far too complex to me. I can see how many people could easily be reading different information than they require for their situation or just don't click on the appropriate highlighted phrase to get to what they need. Quite a bit of talk on a Quebec Rider thread about rules for Americans getting across the border into Canada. It reinforces the need to have all the I's dotted to prevent the possibility of a shi__y vacation.

  18. Ox, Corporate offices are in Auburn, Indiana. We have a foundry in Auburn also which is what you see from I-69. That was purchased after Auburn Foundry went bankrupt. Prior to that purchase, I was working for MTI in Three Rivers, Michigan and chose to stay even though the drive to Auburn is shorter. I have worked in Three Rivers for 25 years now. We have foundries from Minnesota to Mexico. We owned Sachs in Germany and sold it years ago. We bought the TRW foundry in Woodstock, Ontario and ended up closing it some years back. Prior I was Employed by a Danish Foundry Equipment Company. Got to travel all over the world working for DISA. Now I drive 54 to 60 miles each way to work depending on my route and I never take the same route twice in a day. I drive to Auburn only for company meetings or to take one of the company planes.

  20. I didn't upsize, but my coat probably fit a touch loose to start with. I wear it over my bibs and under the jacket. They fit big. I wear a 2xl tekvest and a 2xl fxr adrenaline jacket. I'm 6' tall, so haven't had any issues with it riding up into my Helmet. I could see that issue if you're shorter. My wife is in a large women's adrenaline coat and a large tekvest. She complains some about the bulkiness and probably should have had a medium vest. The 2 xl vest is tightened right up on me, so I might have gotten away with an xl vest. I think it's a mind thing. You need to give them a proper chance for several rides to get used to them. After you do you really miss the added warmth and support when not riding with it. I think the thing to remember is no one plans on a wreck. It's the stupid things you don't see coming that will get you. Another rider on the wrong side, a lapse in judgment on your end, a groomer over a blind hill, or just bad conditions. Cpl years ago I was coming up our hill off the lake at the cottage. Same thing I'd done 100 times before. We'd had some rain and the hill iced up. I was 90 percent of the way up when I spun out and bailed. Couldn't believe it as I rolled down an ice covered hill on my back towards a tree worried about the 600 lbs machine that was sliding down the hill behind me fearing I was gonna get wedged between the tree and it. Never ever saw that occurring until it was too late. I view them like helmets now. No one plans to use them, but you sure will be glad you're wearing it if the time ever comes. We ride 600 lbs missiles through tree lined trails and pass other sleds coming at us with less than 12" of clearance between skis in some areas. Even at 50 kmh that's a 100 kmh crash in a head on. An oak tree doesn't give either. I have kids to go home to and support, so this became a no brainer for me.

  21. Just a FYI. The Super 8 next door, is owned by the same people that own the Companion Inn. OC Member @Evil has stayed there, and booked us rooms there last season for our excursions up there with them. We like both places, so if there is ever a shortage of rooms, it's a option also. And with staying at the Super 8, you also receive vouchers for the Bar and restaurant in the Companion Inn..

  24. BRP Go seems to either show dotted Red for unavailable, or blue for available. Maybe they only go blue when the ITC shows green? That's a weakness to me if that is in fact the case..
