  1. Great day out there today. Only 261kms but we decided to start around 10am in hopes the trails would have seen some traffic and be a bit loose. Left teviotdale at 10am, went up through walkerton, chesley and then across to markdale. Walkerton & chesley were on the thin side in places and very hard. Scratchers down. Had lunch at Tim’s. Then took the B111 down through mount forest and back to the truck. Markdale back to the truck was incredible! Trails were near perfect and were just starting to drift in with the high winds. It was a very good day! 3588kms for the season. I decided not to ride on the weekends this season except for one Saturday and it was a rougher ride forsure. Midweek riding I’ve decided will be the only time to ride from now on. No more weekends for me. If that was it for the season, I’m pretty happy and can’t complain one bit. Best season I think I’ve ever had. Only trailered 4x, the rest of the time I was able to leave from home. Great season, great job by all clubs, volunteers and landowners! Time to decide on a snow check! sled was still filthy from Wednesday’s ride.

  2. Did a day trip yesterday from Pembroke to Spectacle Lake Lodge and then back thru BB and Wilno, Killaloe back up to the B trail. Thought I would try leaving the IRving via the south trail, should have stuck with the rail bed. B trail out was pretty good overall, even the road shoulder section was still smooth (unlike last year when I had to stand on most of it). 155 was great, (except the on-coming dick that figured no one else could be on the trail). 157 was also good. The return trip thru B102, getting thru BB is still "fun", and the Esso on the corner is now a MacEwen. The shell station leaving town was busy and bare. Interestingly, looks like the local club again has permission from the land owner East of the 150 trail, to stay on the old rail bed and not have to do the road loop. Hopefully, the word gets out to respect the slow and wildlife signs posted in that section (and all places on ITG). (The road looked pretty poor had it been used.) The snow is really thin around Killaloe, and found ourselves on bare dirt exiting town. B101A across the lake was ok (Yellow). I had missed that the B101A north of Round Lake had gone Yellow yesterday morning. Exposed rock, and rough. Looks like not enough snow to groom. Found that the fact that some signs were B102 and some were B101A play tricks with my navigating. At the split, took the B102 North, and that trail was sweet and very enjoyable. IF I did it again, this season, I would return along the top B trail, much of the South loop is sun exposed and certain areas are just bare.

  3. I went for my last ride last week Fri. 2 sleds, total near 3900 kms, and not a single breakdown. I figure why wreck something now, I think I'm parked for the season to now. I don't have scratchers either, so that makes an easier decision to park it.

  7. Trails from Mary Lake to Baysville and the Baysville “super highway” were all good yesterday. Hard but enough cooling. Any roads were bad.

  9. We had no complaints staying there. If they still do it, jump in the hole in the ice. It's not as bad as I expected. It's a little pricey, especially if you sit in the bar until they boot you out but well worth it in my opinion.

  10. Been there several times over the years... it's a great spot, wonderful food, comfortable accommodations, hot tub, gas and rental sleds on site, convenient location right on trail, easy ride to Devils Mountain and lots of other nice northern Laurentian trails.

  11. The road is the trail. It wasn’t plowed in the past...Just a parking spot off the highway. However like I said I haven’t been there this year. Not sure if anyone more local could comment. Good luck.

  14. If your intention is to ride the 60 series trails, we have done this several times this year and drop at Raven Landing. This is not my usual riding area and don't know all the drop spots but this one has worked for us. Livin'

  15. Trout spawn Lk road is right there. Usually a plowed wide spot at entrance for parking. Haven’t been over there this year though..

  17. Agree 100% on that, Yamaha fell asleep years ago and by the 2022 cat release it seems like they also fell asleep.. it’s kinda sad as some competition is good for all manufacturers..

  18. Exactly. And yes, for the Cat guys, I am rooting for them also. And a real Yamaha sled for the Yamaha guys..

  19. Maybe, in all fairness, doo seems to still be able to sell sleds. Me and Mrs. Turbo Doo bought new again, so they must be doing something right. But, if Doo has one hiccup, it won't take much for Poo to overtake the #1 Spot. Next seasons releases better be game changing...No offense to the AC and Yamaha guys, but Poo and Doo are running away with it...

  20. Put on 360kms yesterday. Saw a total of 6 sleds. It was a little crispy in the morning but the sun came out and loosened things up. Any road running was terrible and most tight bush sections were no different. Trails though fields and wider bush sections were excellent! Did I mention I love mid-week riding? Started in fergus from home (which will be the last time) and headed straight up to markdale. Then came back down through Durham, Palmerston etc.

  21. Yes follow the science. Political science that is. Good thing we have an unbiased media to ask those tough questions and demand answers from our public servants. Pathetic really.
