  4. Maybe if trails in the far south closeup for good then maybe resources can be sent north to open more trails and make new loops. Could bring revenue to northern communities in both summer and winter. Jerry

  5. That looks like the ticket Blake. The front end on the picture I posted looks like it may have started out life as a Chrysler PT Cruiser hood.

  7. I have no idea on either question. If it is homemade whoever did the bodywork is a real craftsman.

  9. Yes, a big mine which has been there for many years. Like in Defiance, many foundries found it cheaper to pile sand & slag than have it hauled to dumps. We recycle a great % now and finally send what is left to a landfill. In some cases it has been approved to be used in construction of bridges and road projects. Most of the slag is pulverized and the iron removed and recycled while the rest is mixed into asphalt or used in place of crushed rock for driveways. No active piles near any of my companies locations. One old mountain does exist near a foundry we acquired, but it looks natural as trees and vegetation have now overgrown it.

  10. Hi Ox, Yes you are correct! I used Manitouwadge not Marathon when I did the math in my head. 46 kilometers from the D109A turn off to Marathon. 62 kilometers from the turn off to Mani. Total distance from White River to Marathon is 124 kilometers. Total distance from White River to Manitowadge is 140 kilometers. I truly hope these trails all come back along with improvements to the D trail between Dub and White River. If these were open and the water issues fixed to maintain the trails as open the entire season, I will definitely plan for a number of trips through these beautiful areas.

  11. Really cool seeing this, great to see the culverts, and 2 sleds heading south at 1:50. Don't get up that way ever but did two trips 2 and 3 years ago. Did see all the land clearing at that time.

  12. You know that you're a sledder when .... movement on a snowmobile trail (bridge) catches your eye LOL. Good catch, great video. Not up there in the summer, always light traffic in winter but imagine that the twinning will make a world of difference.

  13. Won't get to do mine until things with Covid settle down - they are at my parents place and they are in their 70's - so staying put and not putting them at risk.

  16. Pictures I took of that bridge a couple years back when my daughter and I ran over to Marathon for the day and back to Dubreuilville.

  17. Deadfall is a major concern for that area I think. The north shore seems to git it's share of ice storms, and - maybe deadfall aint the biggest issue, but down sapplings anyway. If you have longtracks and want to go play, you could ride out of Terrace Bay in a few directions (not South) and maybe get a ways. Depending on how much snow they have. Some years a lot, some years hardly any - as they are on the wrong side of the lake for any lake effect. (usually) There is a million loony bridge yonder that should see a skdoo at some point again one day... Even when the trail system was in place over there, it still never went west of Nippigon as Thunder Bay is a black hole for trail support, and has been that way all along.

  18. My '01 600: I think the Formula Z was a 670 w/ the ARM rear suspension. Put some miles on this '03, I wasn't impressed w/ the handling: At the long gone Algonquin Lodge in Lake St Peter:

  19. Don't count on that. If those trails close, I suspect that there will be a large number of permit sales that will be lost as well. That lost revenue will severely impact operations across the province.
