Just to let all you Muskoka riders that the 36 feeder trail now goes to the new shell gas station in Bracebridge ,before it was just basically a dead end ,good to see sno- bombers and the new owners get together on this ,they cross the road down into the ditch and to the gas station ,this is also the travelodge property and a stone throw from Boston pizza and timmies ,great to see new trails and not closures

  2. I have no problem with doing 12 hrs shifts, my route this week was 14 with openning gates and cutting trees, Im in construction its normal to me. Its finding other people to do more, they have other jobs during the day so they cant do 12 hours. Your professional truck drivers, do they do their 13 hrs and then go jump in a groomer for 12? Cant see it It was from our executive that wanted 8 hr shifts and I understood that came from above. As far as the driver abstact, the clubs should be able to figure out if the guy is capable to operate the groomer or not, we dont just take a stranger off the street and say away you go. It is not a requirement from insurance, we only require a copy of our employees license, its just more paper work for nothing, the cowboys you refer to are on the 180 hp turbo sidewinder or 850 freeride. They are the ones with weapons, not the 10km/h tractors. They are the ones that require abstacts

  5. 40th Anniversary ─────────── Today is a very special day for my wife and I as we celebrate our 40th Anniversary. Wow, what a milestone. Where has the time gone. 40 years of some great times and wonderful memories with family and friends and snowmobiling. Dan - Sault Ste. Marie

  7. But the Amosphere in Amos is not your normal spot. Big rooms and fantastic restaurant. Cool outdoor hot tubs. I really recommend it. Many of the Pourvories in Quebec shut down to get ready for the hunting and fishing season mid April

  9. As of today, there is no way to get into the Sault coming from the east. The mild weather has shut down the D100 and the D Trail east to Searchmont and Garden River Bridge is still not open. The D201F is not open. So many trees down and washouts to deal with. I was at Connor Road today and spotted some of the volunteer vehicles in the parking lot. If you are heading north from the Sault, Goulais is the last fuel stop before Halfway Haven. There is no fuel at Searchmont unless riders arrange special delivery with one of the outfitters.

  10. The only place that I know that has cabins in Mont Video, a ski Hill near Barraute east of Amos and north of Val D Or. Its a ski resort close to Trail 93. Would be a central point for day trips. You can check it out at www.montvideo.ca. All the other spots I know of are motels and hotels.

  12. E104 A from end to end yesterday, awesome. What a great trail. Back on the E and others, delightfully lost most of the day, just following along. Rain for an hour, then SNOW. Great day, saw a dozen sleds at Sharbot Lake (good pizza...) and maybe another dozen on the trail, even saw an old pal riding with hubby and kids, what are the odds. Also happened upon a NASTY wreck, nice new Cat touring, totalled, thankfully nobody hurt. Got him out of the ditch and onto the shoulder for towing. This is as close as I can figure, my odo read 180.

  14. From the Sault, gas is at Goulais River, about 30 m out of town, and then at Halfway Haven, a further 180 Km. Trails aren't as fast as northern corridor, but they aren't Muskoka winding either. Hope this helps.

  15. If I recall correctly, the 09-2016 version was an update in response to the Bill 100 blow up. It introduced language clarifying the LUP was not/could not be used to obtain a legal easement. The latest version 2019-05 introduces the "specific to the normal operation of a snowmobile Club" language.I believe the 09 and 05 codes in the version number are the months the documents were published. Common to all versions (including the 2019-05 version) is the Change/Cancellation Clause which requires 60 days written notice of any change or cancellation to the agreement. So until such notice is given the existing agreements remain i full force and effect. The 2016 version also introduced language allowing for a start and end date. The guidance we got at the time was that if you used hard dates ( ie. Commencing Dec 1, 2016 and ending April 15, 2017) would need to obtain a new LUP the following year. As an alternative you could use Commencing December 1 of each year and ending April 15 of each year which would not require a new agreement the next year. So the short answer is that not every Land Owner agreement is renewed every year. And to the best of my knowledge there has been no directive to renew every LUP held (standard or otherwise).

  16. Found on trail 430 a few kms east of Kinmount this afternoon. The OPP were loading up their sleds beside us at the parking lot(north of Buckhorn) and I gave them the phone. It is at the Peterborough OPP station.

  17. You can Google it and find one that is form V2019 which most certainly has different wording concerning insurance coverage than the one that is dated 09 2016 which I think may be the "many years" one you speak of Brian.

  19. It is a bush trail down a gully with a small wood bridge at the bottom. Only a few hundred yards long in all. The steeper hill is on the east side... no issue with studs but there can be some small icy sections that a rookie could get stuck on. There is usually a small creek on the west side.. we are taking about 4 inches of water and a few rocks.. very minor. If your group is doing the RAP I assume you can all handle 2 minutes of bush trail riding. Don't worry about it. I've driven through it a few times and had my daughter on the back last time. A non issue, unless day 1 on a sled.

  21. Same here. I fortunate enough to be able to afford to take multiple trips to Northern Ontario and Quebec every year. The second that things slow down business-wise the first thing to go will be my sleds.
