how are the trails and are there some off trail areas?

I see the map has some trails marked yellow and will be in the up in Michigan mid week we would like to come ride around the soo even though we have never ridden in that area.

Normally we go with Skidoo boy up to Dubreuilville but he says the condition's there are worse than the soo currently.

so we have Canada Trail permits and looking at staying at the Fairfield inn possibly .

I see only a small part opened but we would like to ride sat,sun and part of Monday than head home if theres plenty of fun to be had.

Wife and I are trying to decide to call it a season or come and make one last ride?

We would love to ride out of searchmount to black creek and get gas and lunch and loop back.

My wife will not do open water over a inch or two deep and i have never ridden this loop so really not sure what to expect we have ridden from search mount through half to wawa a couple times so not worried about making the distance more of what trail conditions are.

Also any direction preferred? north on D to d201f to d106 to d or the other way south d tod106 tod201f to d

We would probably drive up spend Sunday night in the soo or at driftwood ride the loop Monday spend Monday night drive home Tuesday

Can someone clear this up. I was told @ the T.O. sled show that there is no trail access for the Fairfield, yet their map ad says they're located directly on the trail.

2017 D106 Echo Bay to Black Creek Outfitters

The D106 is still red. Does anyone known the state of this trail. I will be up there in two weeks and I am hoping we can visit Black Creek Oufitters

Are they are struggling with washouts or if it is just a matter of plowing and grooming.

How are the trails holding with all this warm weather. All of Southern Ontario's beautiful early snow is gone.

If you guys have good trails there may be a lot of sleds up your way.

D201F Trail Domtar Road Washout and route along Hwy 129

Was this washout repaired over the summer? I have not heard anything about a repair or more permanent fix. Last season the temporary repair made it usable for sleds only, but scared some people enough to cause them to turn back and never cross. Hats off to those who got it patched for sleds last season, but the groomers could not pass and thus grooming was affected.

On another note, the interactive map shows the D201F trail from Aubrey Falls Trading Post running north along Hwy 129 past 556 and no longer crossing the Mississagi River Bridge. Is the trail going to bypass the hills and actually run next to Hwy 129? Just want to know if the map is actually correct in this area. It could be a much easier route to groom and makes sense from that stand point.

Any info available would be greatly appreciated.

Groomer #3 is almost ready to go and Signage Day preparations under way. Volunteers always welcome. Club Meetings are every 2nd Wednesday of each month at Wacky Wings on Great Northern Road (basement lounge area).

Im from London and Up visiting my inlaws, brought my sled, id like to go for 1 ride while im up here. Just not too fond of venturing out on my own, anyone going out for a ride today that i could tag along with or maybe contact if i get into trouble?

Echo Bay to Aubrey D106

Will be traveling from Elliott Lk to Aubrey Falls to Echo Bay this Sunday. Would anybody have a report or any info in general on the D106 from Aubrey to Echo especially the 10k of road running that is usually plowed to the ground with heavy sanding for the logging trucks and not snowmobile friendly. I was at camp this weekend and stopped by Searchmont trading post. It was closed and locked. No gas. People at ski hill said they weren't making enough money. Just wonder what this does to the new trail to Aubry Falls. I don't know the mileage, but seems like a long trip if nearest gas is Goulis bay. Also didn't see the groomer staged. Any info will be helpful, thanks

It is great to see the Bruce Mines Club being the first to open their trails again this year

Trip Sudbury to Sault St. Marie

I am planning to come up to Sudbury on Friday for up to a week. I am wondering if the trails are good, and if anyone could recommend a loop in the area, maybe to Sault St. Marie, or a great 4-5 day loop where the trails are good. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated!

I am thinking of visiting the Sault area and doing day trips in mid Feb.

Is anything shaping up? Are there any loops that are doable in a day? I'll likely be riding with my daughter and then visiting family at night so 150 - 200 Km range is max.

All trails now OPEN. We could still use some more snow to cover up some rough spots but for the most part conditions are good!

Just a note - the city staging area is no longer located at Lock City Dairies on McNabb due to construction. It can be located only a few km away on the corner of Black Rd. and Second Line East.

Algoma Rail

Hi All,

Looking to try the Algoma Rail trip and was wondering if someone might know some approximate travel times between towns...we normally ride Parry Sound way...and not quite sure what to expect in District 13. That is, interesting trails that wind through the forest or super highways...we have heard the trails are quite nice and quite wide. We are happy with either...just trying to trip plan.

We know the km's...but were hoping someone could give us a feel for time between:

Hawk Junction - Wawa

Wawa - Halfway Haven

Halfway Haven - Searchmont

Searchmont - Soo

Our meetings are open to the public, snowmobilers one and all. They are held at the Water Tower Inn, enter from the Pavilion. Meeting times are at 8pm and usually last 1 hour. Coffee is available on us and other refreshments are also available at a reasonable price, courtesy of the Water Tower Inn.

First General Meeting Date is as follows: Oct 20th 2010, and every second Wednesday after that.
