New Trail to Horseshoe Resort

New to the Forum and have a question about the trail coming out from Horshoevalley Resort.

Is this trail going to be open (providing we get some snow). Looking if it's possible to ride over to the race way in Barrie to watch the snow cross races on jan 26-28th. Would be fun to ride to watch the races. Is it possible to ride from the resort out to the raceway in Barrie?

Looking at the interactive trail map on the ofsc website, it looks like it could be done but would like to know if anyone in the riding area thinks its possible. On top of that, how are the conditions looking in the area? I went through last weekend and there was not much snow to speak of.

Any insight would be great. Wishing for snow so everyone can go riding.

Take care,

First off Welcome to the Forum!

Check with the Orillia club maybe they have worked something out with the event. As far as Horsehoevalley Resort goes, no trail into there yet but there are new trails in the area. MOST421 leds to Carriage Hills Resort. MOST420 goes from MOST421 to Craighurst, The MOST422 Runs from the B112B to the Orillia trail system.

if we get some more snow you could get from horseshoe to the races...small trail (not ofsc) runs along road to 201...then your off to the races

  • 1 year later...

I know this is last years thread but the MOST 421 trail into Horseshoe resort is now finished. The trail eads in the parking lot at the tunnel under Horseshoe Valley Rd and the base of the ski hill. We ate at the resturant yesterday and the food was quit good. The menu pricing seem to be on average $14, compareable to a Casey's or Kelsey's but IMO the food was better. With the MOST 420 running into Graighurst for gas and food, and the MOST 422 connecting to the ODSA 201 this should be a good place to ride to or out of. That is as soon as we get a little more snow.
