If ever there was a year that could be called “THE YEAR FOR SNOWCREST RIDERS” the 2009/2010 season is it!!!!!

Our trails saw about a 30% increase in traffic, due to excellent trail conditions and improvments that resulted in the most grooming hours our Club has had to do in years!

JUST SOME OF THE CLUB IMPROVEMENTS THIS YEAR!!

  • The NEW 240 foot Beaver Creek Bridge, which re-opened and improved 30 kms of TOP D trail while eliminating 4.5 kms of road running.
  • A New Pisten Bully Groomer that has replaced the Scot-Trac.
  • Road name signs at road crossings
  • Trail map boxes in select locations on the trails.
  • Most successful Pancake Brunch and Safari in many years.
  • Easter Seals Snowarama – most $$ raised by the Club this year.
  • Comunity involvement/ support: Easter Seals, Winter Carnival, Ontario Winter Games, Pancake Brunch & Safari, etc.
  • 2 Club/District Snowcrest Driver Trainers for students. Over 70 students trained, including “special session” for hearing impaired student.
  • 1st Annual Golf Tourney planned for June 18, 2010 (See website for more details).
  • Several Positive media coverage on Club related items. Newsprint and television. Municipal, District, Provincial and Federal related news.
  • Very succesful Volunteer recognition & recruiting program in 2009/ 2010.
  • Etc, Etc, Etc!!!!

We would Like to thank all those that supported Snowcrest Riders!

With Special Thanks to our Groomer-Operators, Club Volunteers, Permit Distributors for all your hard work and dedication and especially to our Landowners, without whom our trails would not exist!!!

No doubt, it has been a great year for the Snowcrest Riders Snowmobile Club. And what a different organization this has become.

It is amazing what life has been brought back to the club and the strides that have been made; on the trails, with the Town, in the community and with the membership.

It points specifically to Leadership. The Club President and the Board deserve a whole lot of credit and a whole lot of thanks. They are an example to other clubs of how to do it, that change can work, new ideas are often good ideas, being a good neighbour works, being a good partner works, being a good businessperson works, and being responsible and transparent will bring you your own rewards.

A Tip of the OC Helmet to Snowcrest Riders !!
