OK, so just for arguements sake I just went back to the OFSC site and tried to order my permits again.

It only lets you git to the page showing your registered vee-hickles. (in my best Rizzo voice)

Unless you add another sled, you cannot go any further, but it shows you right there the number on your registration and the ser # of the sled it goes to.

Print the page and scurry on to whiteness.

Good grief - live on the edge a little eh?

Rizzo was the whole show !!!

I'm not sure how long you have been following the Buy online process over the years? But many people have been through the process of buying online and have had less than positive reviews. Permit never came, heck Slomos permit went on a world tour one year..

My review is everything was a flawless experience.

I just don't understand why the process doesn't work as advertised - every other on-line purchase I have made in my entire on-line purchasing experience has worked flawlessly, Amazon.com, Amazon.ca, Kijiji from US and Canada, and any number of other merchandisers. I just received a large 3'by 4' under engine shield for my wife's car all the way from China, it arrived in 7 days, and I could track it practically every step of the way!

I paid an extra $10 for tracking on my Ontario trail pass, in that my address, being a unit number with no one home during the day, has to be monitored. I was lucky to get the Purolator "not at home when we were here" sticker as it was fastened on an outside window! There was no email communication at all, except when I emailed the OFSC to find out why I had not received a confirmation message. Second year in a row of troubles in this regard.

It is tiresome to compare to the Quebec trail pass online system, but received my trail passes from there, two bought at different times, received in 5 days, insurance refund in about 8 days. OFSC needs to hire some professionals.

hey Ox - This would make an excellent signature line for you....stretch it out a bit for effect "I am familiar....but not concerned." (not too much of a market for skidoo recoils I would not think!)

I decided to wait it out and test purchasing on Nov 1st this year which was the early bird deadline.  My review is everything was a flawless experience.

I personally don't even know if I will be riding this season, but I still support our trails...

Paul... you may not be riding this year... did hell freeze over and nobody told me.

Look at what you are using for comparison. The OFSC versus Amazon. A massive multi-billion $ corporation with an enormous IT department with specialists that code sales and fulfillment systems all day every day. Then they have their own massive distribution / fulfillment centres. It's like comparing your neighbourhood variety store to WalMart

The process of ordering worked great for me, just the delivery from Purolator was a bit of a problem.     i ordered the tracking with mine and it was a good idea possibly, because purolator brought it 2 times to my local drop off point but failed to call me.   They brought it back to their bracebridge location saying it had the wrong address, and finally called me after 2 weeks of being driven around parry sound region.  I did end up getting it after a few calls to purolator (not fun).   OFSC's part seemed to work well for me, just the shipping problem..  wished they would have used Canada Post for my circumstances.   if i remember last year i did not get the tracking and it came by Canada Post.

I don't even know anything about "tracking" as an option, but mine did come Purolator (actually - I think UPS delivered it, but it says Purolator on the envelope) not more than a week, and accrost the 49th.

Same day as the e-mail telling me that it had been shipped.

Personally it seems like a waste to me. Why pay anything more than Canada post to deliver something that is not time sensitive?

I understand that you guys seem to think that it's a major deal that it's on your sled 2 months before your first ride, but in the name of the biggest % of the Loonies going to the trails, why would any of us expect anything quicker than 1st class mail?

Actually - I think they charged me $10 each for delivery accrost that 49th, when they were both in the same package.

Oh well, Hopefully I git both magazines....

The OFSC hires a fulfillment company in Brampton or Mississauga for the delivery of trail passes. It can't even send out emails properly. In addition, you must have overlooked my comparison to the process with regard to Quebec.

The contract fulfillment house will still not compare to the resources of the likes of Amazon. How do you know Quebec doesn't have the same blips. I'm sure that out of all the passes they sell there are some hiccups as well. You just don't know about them. My pass order went smoothly as did the delivery just like thousands of others. No system is perfect. As for Amazon. I ordered a BBQ cover. It didn't arrive. I called Amazon, they said that the parcel was signed for at the front door. We had been home all week. Then they put me on hold and came back to say it was delivered to the wrong address. My only solution would be to reorder.

Wow I've never heard of amazon saying that I'm surprised.  We've had stuff late and had to call and they compensated us.

I am on several Quebec rider forums as well and there have been no complaints. Maybe you ought to expand your own horizons a bit before telling people what they don't know.

I suggested a possibility only. I would be surprised if Quebec has a totally flawless fulfillment and delivery system. Nobody and no system is perfect. Just take a look at Canada Post and all the courier companies. They all have departments for lost items/deliveries. Heck it made the news where a courier lost the ashes of a girls cremated horse and said they are unable to find them. Things go missing in the best of situations.

They did compensate me... they gave me a refund to my credit card. No problem. They couldn't send me a replacement without me reordering. It was just an illustration that even Amazon has delivery hiccups through their delivery service provider which in this case was Canada Post.
