Looks like sledding has a long way to go for gender equality...

My wife and daughter ride horses.  I'm sure that the results in that sport would be flipped 180 * in gender respondents

Looks very positive to me, hopefully the data can be put to good use to get some funding.

You think Ford is going to fund our sport, look at the slashing and hacking he has done already.

I'm not happy with what he is doing but at least he has the kahunas to do what needs to be done.

Many on here must remember Bob ray, he did the same thing.

Kind of a Captain Obvious sort of study. Alot of us don't see snow or available trails anymore and must trailer hundreds of km away from home. Fuel, lodging and meals multiple times in a season. Ofsc should partner with 407ETR next season and get members a discount on transponder fees.

You don't apply for funding for snowmobiling, you apply for funding to promote gender equality in snowmobiling. (or new immigrants in snowmobiling, lgbtqlmnoprstuvwxyz persons - or equivalent - participation in snowmobiling etc. ) Various government departments must spend money in their budgets or lose what they have to spend the next year.

Thanks, Nunz!

I always find the permit sales vs insured sleds data interesting. Glad the insurance bureau shares information.

"The OFSC sold approximately 105,000 permits for Ontario trails in 2018‐2019.   It is estimated that 43,000 snowmobiles were used without a trail permit.

The Insurance Bureau of  Canada confirmed  that  148,000  snow vehicles were insured in  2018‐ 2019. This is an increase from 141,600 snow vehicles insured in 2013‐2014."

So .. more sleds out there than during the prior study. We're also getting close to understanding how many more potential permit buyers there are (of the 43,000...how many fish, trap, sled on the back 40 or only traverse roads / crown land?).
