Planning on a trip tomorrow, leaving singhampton and going up through moonstone into waubashene, over to midland and then back down rail line through wasaga, Stayner  area etc. Just wondering what conditions are like through wasaga areas. I know there’s lots towards midland & waubashene areas. Thanks for any info!

I was out yesterday. I took the 601/301 to the c up to penetanguishene and looped through midland. Trails were great. On the way back I took the c through elmvale. It definitely hadn't been groomed since all that snow. Then took the B over to wasaga. I would avoid fields as much as possible as they were lacking snow. Can't imagine stayner would be any better

We rode Thursday (yesterday) from Orillia to Wasaga over to Stayner.  Like Poo Man said stay AWAY from the fields on both the 601 for sure!!  The B was great except all the fields were wind blown.  In the bush was fine to great.  All other trails were good to excellent.  Here's some pics to show you.

B trail Orillia to Barrie

Pic below----Very thin at Sunnidale-they have done the best they can with what they have.  The wind pretty much blew everything in the ditches.  We rode the ditch along the road anytime we came to a field where we could.

This pic below was on the 601 that was one of the better fields on that trail.  I would run the B trail before the 601 IMHO

This pic was the 301.  It was amazing.  Like I said the bush was great.  Open fields not so much.

This picture is back to Orillia on the railbed from Port McNicol to Coldwater.  Plenty of snow in Barrie, Orillia, Waubashene, Midland and  Coldwater.

Hope this helps.

Thankyou! Helps a lot. 179kms on throttle for today, grandma has kids all day so we figure might as well go for a ride.

How long did it take you? I haven't ventured that way yet.

Everything else had very good snow! That C trail from cold water to midland had lots of snow but it was pretty well destroyed. Good day, sunny skies and an awesome bacon cheeseburger at the boathouse in midland!

Thanks for the update. Takes a ton of snow for the 601 to be decent. Sucks as I have to take it to get to the trails!

Can you not take B trail over to C or elsewhere?

No I'm right off flos rd 11, almost in Tiny. I can go down flos 11 to the c trail when the roads are ok but the wind whips them just as bad as the fields.

When we ride from Severn Bridge to Wasaga in good conditions we can do it in about 2 hours.  From Rail bed in Orillia to Wasaga took us about two hours (take a lot of pictures) and due to the low snow areas we took it easy.  Good time on rail beds and other trails.
