Duct Tape Hint

Not sure if you guys have seen this 'different' way of packaging, but I know of 2 that that were unaware of it. This has been the normal that we see. Either in small, but usually large dia' roll:

Many years ago we saw in 1 of Ned Nickerson's newspaper columns, a mention of the flat pack:

We eventually found it in the US, but it seems to have disappeared.

While surfing online for it, I saw a couple of Youtube videos wher folks were making their own flat packs. Cut a piece of sheet metal, not cardboard, 2" x 3":

How much tape you wrap on the holder is up to you.

So what on Earth is the "flat metal" part all aboot?

Maybe sumpthing like young David, and you can unwind the tape 'till just aboot the end, and then use the metal as sling-shot material?

To be used in defense of wolves, or maybe offense to get a partridge when stuck in the bush for a cpl days?

The piece of metal is simply something rigid to roll the tape onto, so that it stays in a rigid form when you want to unroll a piece .... rather than being all soft and flexible which can be a pain to unroll the tape from...

Well, quite honestly - I've had it in there (wherever it is?) for many years. I don't anticipate actually using it. It's for emergency use.

That being said - we did dry-wall screw my chums visor back on once, and it stayed that way for 10 years at least. (still?)

Only for him to have to doo it to the other side several years later  when that side broke.

I doubt that I will ever remember the act of him breaking it. LOL!

A co-worker had a pic of a ballet employee posing on his Mach 1 parked on a snow banking front of the 'studio'.
