Messed up my back on Christmas Day starting the Elan. Ran it around the yard parked to go get the Buzzard. Elan quit & wouldn't restart  Bro & nephew got the Elan back into the shed on Thu'.

There's a '91 permit on it from when 30cal4me had the motor in his Plus go south. Last year it was registered was '95.

I find Voltarin to work very well. We have a teeter inversion table, it really works well and you feel rejuvinated after only five to ten minutes.

Inversion table is my next approach to a shot back since my 20’s aside from proper stretching excercises. Many years of constantly working through the pain not really knowing what was wrong beyond a sore back, destroyed my back. L1-L5 bulging discs, narrowing of the vertebrae pinching nerves, Bertolottis syndrome to boot. If I don’t bend myself at the knees in proper form to even pick up a tennis ball I can put my back out for a week now. Quick sudden movements such as my feet slipping the slightest bit on ice and bracing myself to correct my balance so I don’t fall can and will ruin a week for me. Reaching for a door knob and twisting at the hips and waist in the wrong fashion has done it as well. Voltarin has been good for the muscles which react and tighten up after the discs have gone pop again but that’s about it. Does nothing for the nerves in the lower spine.

Frosty's comment hits home. I can put myself on the D.L. for a week just getting something out of a lower cupboard if I'm not careful.

I buy generic Robaxacet and Robax Platinum in bulk. I have an inversion table too.

Many years of mogul skiing and windsurfing has taken it's toll.

I really need to stretch more.

Lil over 20yrs with a crushed disc and the discomfort that goes along with it. Seen more peeps to deal with the pain than I care to mention plus taken every pain med doc will prescribe with no end in sight. About six months ago,  pain went from daily moderate to severe into 24/7 of just this side of unbearable. Desperate for relief, three months ago I started with an RMT who is a member of my Mustang club. Part of the treatment, a 180 deg turn in my eating along with couple or three visits per week. Yes I've had a few flare ups along the way but he's been able to get me to multiple days in a row of zero pain. Add to that I've dropped nearly 25lbs and life is pretty damm good.  No I'm not 100% but I'm well on my way to feeling dramatically better on a more regular basis. Shitty part of the deal, all the time wasted on peeps that didn't have the talent to actually help.

Sending a huge thank you out to Rob and Kat at Muscleworks in Mount Albert.

One thing that does help is breathing while doing things that require a “back” The primary function of vocal chords is not for speaking. It’s for holding your breath to ready and stabilize the body for heavy lifting etc. Like a caveman. The pressure from the diaphragm pushing down and expanding puts force on your inner muscles and vertebrae which can cause discs to slip and herniate. So....just breath and watch the strong healthy ones do the heavy lifting while you feel useless. Lol There is my useless information for today.

If I knew then what I know now, when I was younger... when we are "younger" we are invincible. Had I known then the toll my rodeo days would take on my knees and back I may have thought differently. Maybe but not likely since it won't happen to me, just other people.

Hydramorphone is 8 times stronger than morphine, that is some heavy duty opiods you are taking, be carefull.

Probably the same here. I guess pulling the sled over @ an awkward angle & on the wrong side did it.

I can take 2 (5mg) every 4 hrs and still function normally.

I only take them when I really need too.

Today I took some after yesterday's trail adventures.

Took the whole roster of opioids at will for years.

I was in such bad shape, and legally had the medical system on the run, they became VERY compliant. Prescribed anything I wanted, lots of helpful suggestions, full support from a pain specialist, normally a 2+ year wait list.

I did code a couple of times, while having the stuff administered by the hospital staff, but no addiction issues.

Yes, be careful.

Sadly, due to abuse by idiots, and pressure by those who think they know better, it's almost impossible to get help.

I'm SO glad I no longer need the stuff I was able to get back when I needed it.

It's more politically and medically correct to watch people suffer these days.

Kind of why I like Cats design right up the middle. Quite easy standing on the sled. No E start on mine.
