More than once I've had to remind ms. slomo "why so many chunks? ....that firewood doesn't grow on trees you know!"

In some ways I regret putting a fireplace in the rec room. It has the fan that circulates the air. I don't know what the temperature is but my wife gets it going and she takes over my recliner about 6 ft from it and says isn't it nice and toasty warm. Meanwhile I'm on the couch as far from the fireplace as I can be and I'm wiping the perspiration off my forehead.

We have LOTS of water around this year.

Good point. Also noticed that at our cottage. Wonder how that will bode for low lying sections of trail.

Minus 2 C here this morning with a inch or two of snow.

Already i've seen sled tracks in the ditches and on the roadside!

Inlaws keep their place at 75F in the winter. I can't last more than 15 mins in their house at that temp!

Our place is always between 65F and 68F, all winter!

I'd be leaving my coat on at those temps

Woke up to a few inches on the road....and some sleds going by. Not me though, too rough on the snow trackers

I don't need to ride that bad to beat up on my sled like that.

Couple of sleds went past here last night on the street.... not even the least bit surprised...

Not quite enough for me either. Its just barely white on the road.

Hello guys and gals,

I'd be on here more often but I keep forgetting my password.

Minus "teens" here (Kapuskasing) overnight. The water is getting thick, while the snow is still thin....which bodes well for swamp set-up.

Took a few pics today of the Kapuskasing River, Remi Lake and a few trails.

Great pictures. I know someone who has used "password" as his password

I know plenty of people with beaters for just such occasions.

Me too... I got 5 of 'em .... :icon_dance-cpatch:

Claire, is Remi frozen right across? That's impressive considering where we are on the calendar....

Denis, didn't see any open water at all but lots of cracks so probably not too thick at the moment. But a good start, for sure!

Sounds like the same story in my houses.

I was raking on Friday, and plowing on Saturday. Wow, it came in fast.  9 inches in roughly 10 hours. It was -12C on Saturday night. This was at my property on the west side of Huntsville.

The same in Kearney this weekend. Lost my hydro friday night and it still has not been restored. Hydro one says hopefully 11 pm tonight.

Great pictures, Clare Voyant!

BTW, our stat in the house is set to 18C all winter and 20C in the summer.  We prefer it cool and figure that the 18 saves the energy that we use in the summer :-) .

My wife would disown me at those temperatures. That's 64 F and 68 F. She would be sitting in coat and boots year round. Actually that's even cold for me to be comfortable in the house.
