You can't go over 45 mph in Eco mode.  :-(

The opposite of Eco mode.

Sorry we didn't get to meet up w/ you guys. I had gotten out of my gear when sledjunk got the message that you had passed by the motel. Otherwise I probably would've buzzed over for a visit.

Does the trip from Kap to Timmins seem a lot longer w/ the SRF portion of TOP C closed?

It does yes but we're usually not in a rush to get to the truck from Kap anyway so it's all good.  It is a nice option though, I hope it opens next year!

Yesterday, Chandos_Rob, Moosifer and I went to Smoothy's for lunch and finished by doing a bunch of loops.  380 Km for the day and Smooth Rock was the furthest we were from the hotel.

Here is the track from the trip.

Today, the same three of us rode out to Hearst for lunch and decided to try the Pizza Place as Denis had said it was trail accessible.  We found the route there, but, alas, they only open at 2 PM on Sunday. :(  Back to the 'old faithful', the Companion.  Had a nice lunch then headed back.  We decided to try a small loop up L159, across L161, and back down L153.  310 Km for the day, then it was time for Moosifer to pack up and drive home.

Here is the track for the day.

Not sure on the total yet.  Tomorrow, Rob and I will do another ride, but the weather is warming up and calling for a little rain on Tuesday, so we will likely head home.  I'll try to get a total for the trip.

Good to see your sled is working fine again. i wish I could be back to ride again. I have no banked or holiday time left to spare this season.

I was watching the MCTV weather and it looks a bit iffy midweek. :-(

I was spying on your SPOT tracker on our way home this afternoon... we passed Mattice as you were coming back down the East side of the river.  Had it been closer, I'd have waited for you at the A intersection. Having driven 600 miles over the last couple of days I wanted home.  One last handshake and a few minutes to chat would have been nice.

How was that loop BTW?

That would have been great!  I am sure we'll talk soon.

The loop was quite nice, but the trails were getting a little soft, so I was experiencing a lot of darting.

I hope things hold up for another couple of weeks.

Today, Rob and I started off with a quick ride to Bidule Restaurant in town for breakfast as Papa Francos is closed Mondays.  Then we figured we would head over to Smooth Rock for lunch as this was going to be a light day to avoid the warm temps.

On the way, we did the complete Nursery Loop near Moonbeam.

We stopped off at the lookout over the dam at Smooth Rock for a couple of pics.

As we were still a bit early for lunch, we decided to take A to L107 to A103 and back to A for a short 20 Km loop.  Had lunch at Smoothy's and again the service was horrible.

Left the restaurant, fueled up and headed back.

The plan was to take L119, L125, A, L127, A, L123, and L143.

On the way across L123, we came across a couple of groups of sledders gathered around a tree that was felled by a beaver across the trail.  The tree was about 8 inches in diameter so it had to be cut.  Once cut, everyone gathered together to pick it up and throw it off the trail.  After chatting for a few minutes, we parted ways and continued on.  About 5 minutes down the trail, we encountered a large moose on the trail.  By the time I got stopped, he got spooked and jumped off the trail.  We proceeded slowly to see if we could catch another glimpse, but no luck.

Just around the next corner, and back up to speed, there was an even larger moose running down the trail.  Two separate sightings in one day!!!

We logged 278 Km on our 'light' day.

Here is our track for the day.

Back at the motel, Rob loaded up and headed home.  I will be departing in the morning.  It has been a great trip, logging 2402 Km on the GPS.

Hopefully this is not the last trip of the season.

You'd have better luck ordering French undressing :lmao: .... service used to be waaayy better than it is now .... and their gas prices are through the roof.  Prolly drop like a stone when the trails close up.

Will have to check out the lookout trail the next time I'm thru there. How well marked is it off TOP A? We may have seen the signs, but not sure what you would see from it.

@slomo here's the map from the 3 days that I was up there:

We were there for supper Saturday and breakfast Sunday. Had good service both times. It was fairly quiet though.

In comes in handy loading it on a trailer, that's about it LOL

You could get a little EVIL sticker to put over the SPORT icon ;-)

I used eco mode to load sled in trailer and I had no troubles. Sled crept into trailer without spinning the track and no ripping the plywood up with the studs.
