Big black cloud this time.

Was out for a ride with canuck and his crew today.

Went from chateau guy towards Chelmsford to get to kilarney.

We where 10 miles or so away from lively on the D109 and my machine died.

It will restart and run for a bit then die just like you hit the kill switch.

I grabbed the pull cord just to see if there was compression in both cylinders  and the handle plus a foot of cord came out.

I have a funny feeling that when the cord broke both the remaining cord and spring got chewed up in the stator.

Someday the sun will shine on me (day if my funeral I expect)

That's terrible. You haven't been having much luck lately. Hope you can get it repaired.

deal it and get a new sled

That sounds like good advice. Sled is never the same after going swimming. Minerals from water, will shorten life of all electronic components.

The damage is as I suspected.

Recoil gremaded taking out the whole recoil housing. Stator, flywheel.

Not expected to have it by the weekend.

Question remains is why did the rope break on something I don't use.

Any chance the dealer had it off for some reason when they were going over the sled after it's swim?

A good possibility

Possibly it was loose and caught on the running stator.  Unwound and rewound the cord and broke it.  Good luck.

Actually had that happen a couple of times.... years ago the TX 340, and last year the 03 Rev..... coincidentally when hooking up the seized 670 to the Cheyenne.... THAT could have been a "moment" .... 2 sleds on the same rope .... :D

And crap just keeps getting better.

Wife and I stopped at wall Mart in Orillia and somebody side swiped the car.

Will need everything on the drivers side including front and rear bumpers.
