Jan 9th did 2 routes

We staged around 10am in Oxford Station and heading out on the A104 trails were a mixed bag most of the A104 was great riding up to winchester hit some drifts in farmers feilds with the sun poking in and out in the morning it did make some of the drifts hard to see but ride was good was hoping for fuel in Winchester but got there and the station is under construction / renovation  so we continued on heading towards morrisburg kept seeing signs for a Sherry's Gas and Food all along that part of the trail finally pulled in there half way to Morrisburg all the pumps were out of order.

So by this point were about 1/2 tank to 2/8ths so we pushed onwards and seeing that the trails were marked green all along E105 we were hoping for a even better ride but soon found out that they were more gravel and roots then they were snow trails. coming into Morrisburg got fuel and a timmies break there which was really nice right on trail access with snow parking for Timmies.  Leaving Morrisburg the trails improved with snow coverage but they had not seen a groomer in days it was back breaking making it back to prescott. the rail run back up to Oxford was halfway groomed and was a great run.

We only encountered 1 other sled the whole first part of the trip to Morrisburg but i can see why those trails were wrecked down there must have passed / seen 25 - 50 sleds on that E105 within 20km radius of morrisburg. and passed a few more groups as we were heading to prescott. that trail system really shouldn't have been green this past week it's wrecked and i'm sure i lost a pile of carbide down there.

2nd trip my buddy's daughter wanted to take a friend out for a run so i played escort for the night ride on KSK club trails everything was freshly groomed or being groomed and besides the road running never seen a single piece of dirt or rocks. no photos on that run by that time all my devices and backup batts including the phone was dead :)

Edit : Note one error in the route map we stayed on the A104 thru Glen Becker i ran out of little yellow points to use in the ITG. :|

Jan 9 , ( my first ride ) I rode from Shelburne to Owen Sound, around to Meaford, then south through Collingwood , Creemore  and back . Some of the  trails I  rode yesterday are not available today. I thought most of the trails north of Shelburne were in pretty good condition. This ride was 295 k which made for a long day and one I really didn’t plan for. My mistake was not taking paper maps. I had one for district 9, but not for district 8 where I was also riding . I have become  so reliable ( my fault ) on that ofsc app , that having to use the new ITG was a complete joke! I got lost so many times as this was my first time riding this area and the new ITG doesn’t give you a precise location. Extra miles and hours were added on, but in the end it was still great to be out.

Pota, download the Polaris Ride Command App, it's free and it could have helped you out.

Put on another 150 km's today. Started at Thunderbridge Rd. in Lindsay, took E-108 to Fenelon Falls, where it turns into the B103. Took it to the E-108 and went east to Twin Mountains club trail 420. Got a good workout on this trail. Must have been 2000 turns, but it was in good shape. Continued on to club trail 430, good shape but some road running. Took this into Kinmount. Back onto the B-103 rail trail, Back to Fenelon Falls and then the E-108 back into Lindsay. The rail trail was a little bumpy, but not to bad. It was a nice ride.

Just got back in from 257km loop from Exeter to St Marys over to Stratford Shakespeare, then listowel and back home on B111 and south trail into Exeter. Good day and after lunch was glad to be wearing my Klim suit as I stayed perfectly dry.

You rode closed trails today? I wanted to go out but most trails in this area were closed in morning.

Rode 150 kms today. Started in Peterborough near Ashburnam road. The parking lot there was full so i parked on the road. Went down to Hiawatha, back up to  Havelock, over to Hastings and then back to truck. Rice Lake Snowdrifter trails were really good, lots of them were fresh groomed. Havelock trails not so good, but well marked.  Percy Boom trails good with an excellent job along side of hwy 30.  Had lunch at the Banjo in Hastings. Great spot. While having lunch, i opened the trail App and noticed that some of the trails had been changed to red.   Off the trails by 3pm.

I had another great ride last evening, 'bout 95k. Carleton club had groomed, again (Woo-hoo!) elsewhere, not so much. Most of the trails I rode on were marked closed when I got home. Pre-emptive, maybe? It was -5 on the dashboard on the way home.

Ya everyone was prepping for the warm up. You rode the tail end of the cooler weather. Hopefully the trails that were groomed not see much traffic so they are sealed up and may withstand the heavy rain that will be here in the next 12 hours.

Rode wednesday. Took D trail into Kearney then the Sequin to Parry Sound.Trails were in great shape! Got stopped at the Highland Rovers groomer shed by the Opp. Ran my numbers, everything came back clean then waved me on. Got stopped again by the Opp just west of Sprucedale, he looked quickly at my numbers and trail pass and waved me on. Got to Parry Sound and was having a coffee when two Opp officers came in on sleds. Can't believe the number of cops on the trails during mid week. Blew an old belt just after leaving Parry Sound. Guy stopped and asked if i was ok. Told him thanks but i'am good. Changed belt and was on my way again. Only saw one Opp on my way back.Same guy west of Sprucedale. Took the 302/303 back to Sand Lake from Kearney. The rain started late weds afternoon and continued through thursday and into friday morning. My yard is inches from showing grass. My driveway and road is down to gravel. Lake is glare ice Need snow bad! Temps have dropped greatly since this morning.Fingers are crossed hoping for snow.......

  • 4 weeks later...

Went out for my first ride in almost 3 weeks. Rode from Port Perry clubhouse to far side of the Ganaraska Forest and back. Put on 100 km's. Trails were in good shape for the most part. The odd bumpy section in the Ganny and the odd ice patch in corners. If we get the snow there calling for Wednesday, trails will be in great shape.

Rode from Sportsman up to Shining Tree and back. C trail was in top shape running north, however,  roughly 25 k outside of Shining Tree the trail was plowed for about 10 k. I asked when getting gas and was told there’s some dispute about turning that section of trail into a road. Also huge pressure cracks out on lake Wanapitei which are very well marked.

Great pics, group.

Heading up to Sudbury. Buddy's Viper had a cluster code issue so he left it at Sudbury dealer last time.

Moonlight Fri thru Sunday.

I'm riding a black Arctic Cat 5000.

Happy trails.

was there last week and there was a c trail re-route that we missed, i am wondering if this is the same spot...  we ended up taking the road about 6km and ran into loggers which told us that the trail was re-routed, we must have missed the signage and he sent us back about a half km to pick up the old c which we ended up taking back to the re-routed C....was told that a bunch of people also ended up down this logging road...Ended up being a nice 10 km powder ride back to the C.
