Major C TRAIL change in Sudbury

NBSS was informed today that a logging company will be using C trail north to haul logs out all winter ( they tried not to).

C trail will be rerouted but not marked on the paper maps, not sure about ITG either.

I will try to post up the reroute this week sometime.

Some may remember this trail from years ago.

Is re route going to mean extra miles again in between fuel stops and a large back track into shinning tree for fuel?

No depending on your destination.

If leaving from capreol to gowganda, yes longer.

Rockies to gowganda, shorter.

Don't worry, the old trail is good.  Up past Thor Lake.

thanks for the info soupkids.  Thinking of heading that way to the cottage for the weekend.  I know I won't be sledding, but how much snow is on the ground?  Just trying to figure out if I can use the quad, or if I'm on snowshoes and pulling a tobaggan?

thanks,

FishHog

We have at least a foot.

Should be able to get around with the quad, may not be easy in places.

No.

Give me dome time and I will post up a map.

We are basically running portalance road from fire lake road north till it reconnects with the trail where the old culvert used to be, just south if the outhouse

Sounds great to have not only one back up to a situation like this, but a couple!

There's gas at Tata-Chika-Pika

Is it always open?? The following was posted on this forum last Feb. 9th.

"Tata may be difficult as owners, one passed away and other has had health issues. I believe their son has helped out but not certain of current status."

No.  One year I called ahead and asked if they were open on the Tuesday as we would need gas to get to Timmins.  I was told yes.  Got there, nobody there.  Generator running and lodge open.  We helped ourselves and left money at the til.  All was good in the end.  The guy is always in Timmins looking after rental property problems.
