First ride of the season....

Headed out to Hornepayne area for our first ride of the season. Sled hauler is great, does the job just fine. 3 sleds fit comfortably with plenty of room around them.

Did some logging roads on both sides of the highway, got onto the not yet groomed trail, got to play for a while. Surprisingly there were no other sleds around.....

I see ice forming on the lake.... how long until someone makes the mistake of trying to cross the ice.

Great to see you out riding Denis. I'm kind of jealous. They tell me there have been a couple of people that have been out on the old rail trail near Coldwater.

Looking good.  How much snow was there up there.  I may make my way up there either this week or next weekend.  Need to figure out the routing of the trail up at the north end as logging is supposed to be done.

Had to be average 6" for the most part. Some spots thinner,  as much as a foot in others. Great conditions for the short track sleds, you would have been fine with the Summit too.

Let me know what day you're going and I'll join you.

I was told by some guys that there was over a foot of snow near the Kaby river this week on our side.   I was told that there was over 2 feet in the Longlac area.    Thinking of maybe using the new road into the Kaby river from the Warm-up shack up to the river for this year.  Will check it out and see.  The road is so big it would make for a nice trail.

Too each their own but going through all that water doesn't appeal to me in the least. I see these guys come in covered head to toe in mud. The only thing you see that isn't covered is the eyeballs and teeth. They can have it.

Good for washing the grease out of the hub bearings and the CV joints.  I just don't get it.

I'm with you, 02...not even the slightest bit interested in that sort of riding.

Yup, Had I known what the day would have entailed I would have stayed home and watched football.

Ya that water doesn't look like fun.  The only reason I see to go through that kind of stuff is for good Walleye fishing, and even then only when it is warm out.

Well bike is sold, turned out the chain case knocked out a hole in the engine, my days of atv ownership and Yamaha’s are done for a while. Sledding is much more fun and cleaner.
