Just a heads up in case anyone is planning a stay here...we saw the reviews here and decided to book here as our first night on a RAN Tour this winter, website shows great food and the Rates section gives prices that include meals...unfortunately upon booking they told us there will not be food available there this winter, restaurant not open.

Stayed here with Domino, 14Snow and others , albeit for 1 night only. Dining was somewhat 'required' due to isolation. I suppose you could plan your late afternoon to arrive at Jake's or Roxie's diner, eat and then check in. Or, treat it like the Westway in Cochrane. No onsite dining, so make your way to Jake's or Roxie's in Port Loring after checking in.

Would love to see this family succeed. Genuine interest in catering to sledders. Don't dismiss them due to restaurant closed. They tried.

It was "Night 1" on a trip from Muskoka Lakes north. Really enjoyed the narrow (and uncrowded trails) joining small lake to small lake. Memorable area.

That's what we had to do when we stayed @ the now closed Wright Point Lodge south of Port Loring.

What a great trip it was.  We had good snow that winter.  Too bad about Tornados.  Nice people.

We catered to a hunt camp in 2016 for 10 days that used this resort for boat launching.  Very nice young couple, second generation who are running the place.  Have staffing problems, being remote etc.  They are a Swiss family and the parents live in Switzerland and this young couple and her parents used to fly back and forth opening and running the place etc. then flying back.  I believe from speaking with the daughter that they are planning to continue this tradition.  The restaurant was not open when we were there, they had a new baby and another toddler or two? and were doing all the resort work on their own at that time.    This seems to be a place that has been paid for decades ago, the family is quite well off and they do not really treat it as a business, it is more of a Canadian getaway for the family that brings in accomodation money that pays the taxes etc.  The young mother told us she does all the housekeeping because of staff shortages and she had no intention at the time of opening the restaurant that winter.
